You got me intrigued. I just might. that 71 to 90 business is simple, but probably much more traffic. Us backwoods rednecks (failures) like scenic routes....just as long as I dont hear any banjo music.

Speaking of "neutral fields". How many Rider fans remember 1994 regional final game against Wauseon?

If you dont, we played in Findlay. Go ahead and map quest the drive time/miles for both schools in that game....little biased for the Wauseon Indians I might say.

My point...the state will send you anywhere they see fit!

^^Since 94, Findlay has got new turf. Thought that might be a nice spot for the game....then i looked it up....wow. That's WAY out there in western Ohio. Don't remember the drive being that long.

The point was they are not powered by anything but the bags of hot air holding them. They are very annoying to sit next to.

RR1...try riding in a school bus to and from...it was way too long, but is was a happy ride on the way home!

That has to be the largest gap between 2 schools as far as one schools drive compared to the other...it was rediculous!

Genoa brings around 2,000 as well. I remember in the 08' regional final against OG in BG there were probably just as many fans from neighboring areas as there was from either side. I think that final had about 6300 attending. It should be a packed house. The number had to do with how neutral that site was. OHSAA was lucky on that one and many SLL and WBL fans attended.

Couple years ago Patrick Henry played Findlay Liberty Benton in Findlay's Donnell Stadium. That's practically a home game lol

bwcomet...yeah that sounds just as bad! I wish there were a better way for the state to decide game locations...but lets face it, I think most high school football fans would travel as far as needed to cheer on their team!

...and there are a lot of schools that would love to be in our (Genoa/Orrville) shoes playing for a regional championship!

I got your point! Back in the day, little BRF and many others blew those horns so much that we had sores and scabs on our lips. They banned them.

As has been said, this is going to be a great Friday night game and I am very happy to see the MUTUAL respect being shown by each team's fans.

Was just gonna type this. Even tho its 31 miles from Hamler to Findlay, LB had to drive literally 5 minutes to the stadium. Wauseon had 63 miles to Findlay. Orrville had 114. Just last night Hillsdale drove 115 miles to BGSU and PH drove 30. Game was to be at Tiffin but Hillsdale had a conflict with the time. This Saturday Hillsdale will drive 88 miles to Findlay and LCC will travel 34.

Point is be happy you are still playing...(not aimed at any fan base, just a general statement for whining about locations)

As for the noise makers, the Dover faithful always take their's and we've never had problems getting them in cuz we hide them in our throats.
I lost mine last night - but I'll find it by Saturday!

The play offs are a one week season. You have one week to prepare for a team you are relatively unfamiliar with other than what you can see on film.

The games are a chess match. What can we do differently and effectively from what they saw of us on film?

How relevant is the game film from last year?

Which coaching staff prepares better this week?

There were a couple SE Ohio trips that beat that since the 1st round the top teams got to host. The longest involving Orrville was 1985 when we were home and hosted Van Wert in game #1, they traveled about 160 miles to Orrville, took a 15-0 lead then we stormed back to win 35-15. Ride 160 miles after a loss:(
Another long one was Ironton and Orrville at Athens.

Findlay looks to be the only place with 2 games this weekend, and yes it was a long trip from here.

State Semis in '08, Regional semis in'09, Regional finals this year.....so far. Maybe we should buy some candles! I sure wouldn't change too much.

That article is a month old guy... Check the date next time! Its not like every morning when we open the paper here in Toledo there is an article about it. And from someone who was a part of that tradition when it started, very very few ppl do ANYTHING like it...

Something I was thinking about... Clear Fork's kickoff return team was not that good, IMO, especially the person who was fielding kicks, who would always have to take a step or two back when catching the ball and having absolutely no momentum when beginning to return the kick. If Genoa kicks deep to Turner & company every time like they did against Clear Fork (angled left, to the 5-10 yard line), I'm sure Orrville will be much better receiving kickoffs and may have more success in the return game than Clear Fork did.
