Haha. We ended up having about 6-7 Triway fans tailgating, and RedRider1 even joined us for some chatter for a good while. Burgers and hot dogs were good!

(2)If Triway dont lose Kearney....He just might of been the difference in the ballgame!!!!
(3)Congrats Orrville...move on out and keep representing
(1) Agreed about Turner. He's a stud! More bubble screens like you did with Sam Miller are in order, I think. Just get the ball in his hands. Period!
(2) Losing Kearney was HUGE! He was the #3 WR on our team, IMO, and the most improved player in our receiving corp this year, also IMO. He would have helped us stretch the field. His replacement was our #6 WR on the depth chart, basically. But that is part of the game.
(3) Agreed. Good luck, Orrville! I'm now a Manchester Panther and an Orrville Red Rider. No. I'm never an Orrville Red Rider, but I'll root for you!

Thanks to you and all the Orrville fans for the kind comments. I hope you now see why I was optimistic going into this game. I knew what our team was capable of, and we played close to that tonight. Neither played great, but the game itself WAS great. Congrats to Orrville, as well!

Here are my numbers:
Orrville - 372 total yards of offense (253 passing, 119 rushing)
Triway - 248 total yards of offense (211 passing, 37 rushing)

On one play Triway had 2 guys in motion and no call. On the play that Turner and Polen fought for the ball in the 4th Q. neither of them caught it because it hit the ground before they did, but no one was in position to see it.
The refs were definitely inconsistent tonight for both sides. It was interesting, though, having OHSAA members who were grading the officials, and they sat right next to us in the press box. Haha! Very interesting commentary that one normally doesn't get to hear. It was pretty neat. Orrville finished with 7 penalties for 95 yards. Triway had 7 penalties for 45 yards.

I am awaiting a response to see if he is OK. He was down for a while and looked to be in bad pain but hopped up a minute later. I'll update everyone when I hear something. My guess is it was a concussion, and we know the new rule this year that if someone has a concussion, they're out for the rest of the game. No questions asked.

Here was Carmichael's line: 18 completions, 46 attempts, 211 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT (he only went 5-for-15, 32 yds, 1 TD in the first half)
OrrvilleQB;546528 wrote:Mason needs to be lined up at rb with a lead blocker, he is unstoppable!
Agreed! Monheim was tough to stop when he had the ball in his hands. If you have short yardage, give it to him. He won't get tackled behind the line, that's for sure. He finished with 6 carries for 20 yards (runs of 2, 5, 2, 5, 5, 1). But he's one of those guys that if you give him more carries, he could carry a team... and you have two guys that can do that! (Simpson had 28 rushes for 120 yards and 1 TD)
All in all, it was a fun game to watch, but I'm sad to see our team's season end. We had a great season when many fans, including me, had mediocre expectations for our Triway Titan team. But this group of seniors and their supporting cast along with all our coaches showed the true heart they have and will always be winners (I think they probably went down as the winningest class in our school history, but just a guess.) Keep your head up, Titans! We can have a pretty nice team next year, too!
Good luck, Orrville! Represent the area well. You were 2 of our 3 losses. Keep winning!
