The 2002 Buckeyes were tested week in and week out playing in the best conference in football that season. They got to the title game and knew how to play a close game against a talented opponent. 2010 Oklahoma plays in the Big XII where no one plays any defense except Nebraska. Even if they are in some 54-51 shootouts with Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, that isn't the same as a real football 20-17 football game, and they won't be ready for a real defense in their bowl game (or probably even the Big XII title game assuming Nebraska is their opponent).
