Strickland has had nearly 4 years to fix school funding. He needs 4 more years now to not get it done? Why should the voters reward 4 years of ineptitude with 4 more years of the same? To be honest though, Ohio's school funding has been terrible/unconstitutional long before Strickland came in and no one could/would fix it.

Agreed. But didn't Strickland run on the platform that he would fix it? Seriously....why isn't it fixed? I know this issue has been around for umpteen years...why won't it get solved?

No it's still a good criticism. He hasn't fixed it. It's just that I think there are more damning criticisms to be had of Strickland than that he didn't fix something that no one else has been able to either.

There have been 3 pube Governors since the SCOTSOO declared the way the State funded the public schools in unconstitutional 1997. That's nearly 9 years of Republican leadership that did not fix it to Strickland's 45 months.

This is really a moot issue as no one knows how to fix the problem as thr SCOTSOO has only ruled on what NOT is constitutional.

The state of Ohio has been Governed in both houses by the pubes for over 15 years. Only the last 4 have had a Dem Governor.

The state went to hell LONG before Strickland too office in 2007

I think Kasich will be just as inept as Teddy on school funding because I haven't seen anything to convince me otherwise. Has nothing to do with an R or D next to his name.

And honestly I have no idea who I'm voting for as far as governor goes. Because on one hand, Strickland hasn't done a lot of the things he said he would and the state isn't in a great spot. But on the other hand I am levelheaded enough to realize that a lot of the problems he's had either were there when he started his term or would have been there no matter who was in office (doesn't give him a free pass for not fixing them but a little perspective never hurts).

I've yet to see anything from either side that makes me say "This is the guy I want to vote for/I think he'll be good in office". I hate voting on the premise of "I hate him the least".

Agreed and I wished Strickland would have done that once he was first elected.

I got yet another automated telephone call today promoting Strickland. The only thing the message said was the fact that Strickland got the NRA's vote.

He's got nothing else to promote.

Ted has done NOTHING in his ads but go to the tired old class warfare schtick -- because he has NOTHING to run on where his record is concerned.

While the margins may be smaller, so long as an incumbent is under the 50 percent threshold, he's usually in big trouble.

Will be voting for Kasich, there's no doubt about it. I could never vote for a Democrat because if you're voting for a democrat you're probably an idiot.

Disclaimer: I do realize that some Republicans are also idiots, but there's a way higher probability of being an idiot if you vote Democrat, and you can take that to the bank.
