Good news.

This is one Buckeye fan that really hopes ND wins this game....I don't know why, but I guess when you are educated by the Sisters of Notre Dame....some of it rubs off I guess.

This would most likely end up being a signature win as I think Stanford will end the season ranked fairly high (top 15). Would be the biggest win for ND in some time. Make no mistake about it....this is a huge game for the Irish.

Don't want to look ahead but this is a huge stretch of games for ND. Stanford, at BC and then return home to play Pitt. BK has his work cut out for him but I'm optimistic as ever. ND's 1-2 record isn't as bad as some make it out to be (as far as having a chance to win) and despite some who still think ND's defense stinks, it's better, these guys are at least in position, in better shape, have shown the ability to make adjustments and actually make stops.

I think I've seen more open field tackles on defense already this season then all of last season. This team is making strides and is going to be very competitive from here on out.

^^^^A lot of "3 and outs" this year too, haven't seen that in a long time. I believe Kelly's on the right path and will get these guys to make the two or three extra plays to win a tight game.

This one could get ugly. If MSU can roll up close to 500yds vs ND defense...its scarey to think what Stanford will do. ND is going to have to outscore them to have any chance IMO.
42-24 Cards.

Any significant injury or depth chart news for either team?

Stanford will be working in WR/Kick returner Chris Owusu. I believe he played some last week but I'm not 100%. Their leading WR, Ryan Whalen is likely out for tomorrow.

Notre Dame doesn't have any significant injures, safety Jamoris Slaughter is listed as the starter after only playing 2 plays in the Michigan/MSU games with an ankle sprain. Reserve safety Dan McCarthy should also be available after not playing the last 2 weeks.

Once again, these hater blowout predictions are laughable. Kelly knows how important this game is and he's all in to get a W today. Stanford's not playing Sacramento State today!

This will be another tight football game for ND and they have to find a way to make the one or two extra plays to win.

And you guys know if ND wins....some will say Stanford was "depleted." How many games did ND play without Michael Floyd last season and for that matter Armando Allen last year too? Those same guys weren't throwing around "depleted" for ND then so laugh it off if they do today should ND win.

Main thing is they can't let Andrew Luck go apeshit. Hopefully the corners aren't giving Stanford WR's 10+ yard cushions every down either.

GO IRISH!!!

it's inevitable, ewok--if you win the other team "is down", but when you lose you suck.....just a hunch, but I think today's the day ND gets over the hump.

I'm going with Stanford in this one. I've been hearing all this hype about Andrew Luck. Guess i'll finally get to see whether it's for real or not.

I'll take Stanford by 17.

Pretty decent first drive...so far.

Here's to hoping the Irish can wake up the echoes and shake down the thunder today!
