So I live on the corner of an intersection in a town of about 150 people, and I have a driveway that goes from one road to the other by looping around the back of my house. Right now, however, this tiny town is hosting a festival that draws about 15,000 people, and needless to say, parking is an issue. Here is my problem. I come home today and there are cars parked in front of both driveway entrances. Now its not like these are hidden entrances. Both of them are a big gap between trees and it is very noticable that there is a driveway entrance. Someone was tailgaiting at one of them, so I ask them nicely but firmly to move their vehicle so I can actually get to my house, and they back up to the point that they are hanging several feet into my driveway but I can get in. So my question is do I get the other guy towed since he is completely blocking the entrance? I can't back out of either exit because there are trees right up to the edge and you can't see any traffic coming, so if I want to use the same entrance I have to turn around in my yard.

It is your property, I wouldn't dream of parking in the driveway or yard of a private home to go to a football game, what the hell is up with trespassing? You shouldn't have to deal with it. Your tiny town should have a cop/deputy that makes sure this doesn't happen. Are there a bunch of hillbillies in your town? Park on the street or in a public lot or a pay lot.

HAHAHAHAHA, yes, this is a rendezvous, in other words, people come dressed up like old time frontiersmen. They were buckskin outfits and carry antique gunsd and knives. The worst part is that a ton of people like to wear loinclothes made of buckskin, but no underwear underneath. Its disgusting, and I hate this festival. As for the cops, they are all part time, including the state patrol. Wyoming State patrol is not in service between Midnight and 8:00 AM, and the county sheriff goes home around 8:00pm and the local police are done around 6:00. They are all on call int he event of a true emergency, but when I had kids throwing rocks at my house last spring at 1:00AM, I had to chase them off myself after none of the police departments picked up. I didn't call 911, but the last time I had to the first two tries it said invalid number and the third time it connected me to a 911 center over 40 miles away.

Finally, this is the most annoying part. THERE IS A SHIT-TON OF PARKING ALL OVER THE PLACE!. I just happen to live right next to the center of the festival and people are too damn lazy to walk a few hundred feet.

Next year invest in a roll of yellow "crime scene" style tape and a valve stem tool, and surround your property with the tape. Anybody that disregards your property should learn how to buy replacement valve stems.

I'd leave it for this year. Turn around in your grass.

NEXT YEAR: Buy a "No Trespassing", "Private Property" , and a "No parking at any time" sign. Hang'em up.
When somebody disregards them, let the air out of 3 of their tires. It will cost them where it counts. Word will get out.

I'd take advantage of the prime spot and charge $5 to park.

Haha, this is brilliant, I like it as well.

I thought about this because several residents do this, but unfortunately I rent from my employer and they would not be pleased with this.

All you pricks who say "tow the bastard" are probably the type of neighbor nobody likes.

Chill out. Enjoy the long weekend. Go attend the festival.

If I was redfalcon's neighor I'd be just as pissed. I don't where you live, but I've been to plenty of events where there are lots of attendees in relatively small towns, e.g. college football stadiums in Auburn, AL, Oxford MS, Charlottesville, VA, Blacksburg, VA, State College, PA, etc. as well as the Masters in Augusta, GA. Somehow normal people manage not to trespass on other people's property - unless the owner is charging and monitoring their vehicles (happens often at the Masters). What type of prick thinks that they can park their car wherever they choose - let alone voluntarily commit criminal trespass?

Actually you are probably the neighbor that no one likes because you say "sure, you can park in front of my neighbor's driveway, they won't care"

I'm with the "charge 'em to park" crowd. Why not capitalize on the festival? Make a few bucks! I'm thinking $10 a car would do...$15 for assholes.
