If it was non-originals, I'd go with Dazed and Confused.

I agree with both.

For Love of The Game has a great soundtrack; both the original score and the other stuff.

Rudy also has a great score

300 has a great soundtrack, but this thread begins and ends with Friday Night Lights for me.

Apart from Braveheart, James Horner also did great jobs on two smaller movies that no one really went to see: Titanic and Avatar.

Looks like Last of the mohicans has the small majority. Lots of great original songs posted. Keep em coming.

My favorite is probably requium for a dream followed by passion of the christ, and I haven't even seen the movie.

Damn...thought I was going to be the first to mention it, but you are 100% correct. Friday Night Lights soundtrack by Explosions in the Sky was amazing. Never heard of them before, but whenever I had a late night of studying in school, would just turn that on and work....good stuff.

Crazy Heart and FNL and two I completely forgot about.

Sunshine is a pretty good movie with an amazing OST.

THIS.

My junior and senior years in high school I listened to "Your Hand in Mine" before every single baseball game, and the only time I deviated is if I pitched and then I would also listen to Enter Sandman.

One of my favorites is the Dead Presidents soundtrack. Volumes I & II. Best 70's soul/R&B soundtrack ever.

This is about original soundtracks. Forrest Gump doesn't count. It's just a collection of songs not written for the movie.

This is kind of a generalization, but to me it seems there are the Big Three composers who do the OST to all the big time movies, and then everyone else lies behind them.

By Big Three I mean : John Williams, James Horner, and Hans Zimmer.

It just seems like every really good, big-time movie has music composed by one of those guys.
