I didn't realize that there were some Hiland kids that were upset about him transferring and didn't go out for the team. Some of the Hiland people that I work with said that some of the kids and parents were upset because this was going to affect playing time....that is too bad.

who has the best "home court" advantage in the IVC now, none of the old gyms left except Conotton Valley, Central Catholic & Malvern. Malvern would probably get my vote

I'd have to second that, Hess. And I think some of that stems from the distance of Malvern from many other schools in the IVC. Generally the locals get there first and own the noise as a result...at least as far as the working folk are concerned. Couple that with the size of the gym and it can be very difficult for the visitors, especially on offense at the student section end.

I'm not aware of any kids who did not play because of the transfer. There were 3 kids who quit prior to any of that for various reasons, but nothing to do with Seger. Sounds like the transfer got added onto their decisions to not play after the fact.

Probably the kid who has reason to resent the situation is Neil Gingerich, who would have seen a lot more playing time than he is getting. But at Strasburg he played superbly and seems happy with his role.

There are some folks around who are scared to death that someone who lives in x town won't like something like this transfer. They worry what the guys who eat breakfast at the bowling alley are saying about Hiland. So they wring their hands and tell everyone how terrible it is. Most of them will be cheering Seger like crazy tomorrow night. It's a strange world out here some times.
