And why IVS? Why not Conotton Valley? You don't think the CV school board would have found a way to accommodate him? IVS had the surrounding talent. If you don't think the IVS school board knew hiring Charlie put his son on the roster as well, that would be ignorant.

Outside of my father, Coach Reese and the sweltering summers at Huggins camp had the greatest impact on my work ethic I have today as an adult. The only problem I ever had with Charlie is those poosh ups he made us do in the hot sun because the city folk would not shut up while he was giving us wise instruction. I am just trying to look at both situations realistically.

Everything you posted may be true.
This kids father is not getting a head coaching job or any other job that I've heard of so how does this compare to Huggins?
This was 40 years ago and the commute for Charlie would have been tough from CV to IVS to keep his kids at CV.
As I have stated. No comparison.

From what I hear his mother will be working within the Hiland school district. Would that make a difference? There is a lot of BS going about right now about this so who knows what is really going on.

Half hour commute during the 70's would have been tough depending on his compensation. Or he could have stayed at CV. He was operating a basketball camp in the CV school district. Still in his family's hands today. So he must have had enough to keep it. My question for you is do you think Charlies decision to Coach at IVS and take his son with him was based primarily on economics?

As I have stated its not 100% percent the same. But there are valid comparisons that can be made.

Tuesday, December 7 Hiland at Strasburg
Friday January 21 Strasburg at Hiland

These should be very interesting, especially the first one.

I would say it will be a very difficult ticket to get.

I don't know what Strasburg's new gym seats, but it has to be more than the old one. Generally, if you show up at 6 for the JV, most schools are selling tickets. Hiland vs. Garaway is often sold out prior to game time, but I can't think of any other game where i've seen that in the IVC. But, these Burg/Hawk games will have a lot of people wanting to see them, for sure.

I thought mom has worked at Wayne Dalton for years........just hope the adults can handle the emotions of all this, it will be difficult I'm sure, the girl transfer a couple years back was ugly at first but then subsided, can't see a win win outcome for either district (both treamendous districs for kids I might add) regardless of any score or tourney run, I blame it all on Labron that jack *ss....... lol

Yeah, people do need to realize these are just kids..no need for the adults to make it worse. You know the Strasburg students will be on him pretty bad...that will be enough I think.

I talked with Sandy Valley's basketball coach this fall at a golf match and he said his very talented Jr point guard transfered to Perry. that sucks too.

I was kind of surprised the coaches let the kids be interviewed concerning this situation.

The other thing that stuck out to me in the article was coach Miller saying this issue has not been discussed by his team. I find that hard to believe. A coach has to mentally, emotionally, and physically prepare his team for the season and each game. The mental and emotional aspects of this game will be big and can't be glossed over by either coach. Ignoring this situation like it never happened when it comes to your team does not make sense.

My daughter is a senior at Hiland. I had her buy my family pre-sale tickets for the game this morning. When she got home and gave us our tickets she told us the game was now sold out. Those considering a trip to the burg with out pre-sale tickets may want to make a phone call in advance to confirm this.

I know you know everything sparky, but did you ever think maybe..........coach Miller knows his players better than you????? or maybe, out of respect to all involved......there is no need to keep discussing this........maybe some of the Hawk posters need to let it go.........

It seemed to me that Seger did not touch the ball as much as he needed to against WH. I think they are still trying to figure this thing out. Pretty much everyone on the team can score, so there has to be a lot of sharing of the ball. I'm hoping to see Seger get more opportunities tonight, but the fact that they are playing unselfish bodes well for them.

When I got my tickets yesterday I was told that all 300 allotted would be sold that day. Non-season ticket holders had no chance.

Looking forward to see what happens tonight. I want to see if there are any creative ways the Burg students come up with to express their feelings.

Easy Tiger. Where did I say I knew anything? Just giving my opinion on the article that was posted. My opinions are not facts. Just my own personal thoughts. Sometimes they are evan incorrect.

I like coach Miller. He is a solid coach and I believe he will be successful at strasburg.

What's got you so jumpy today? Seems to me you need to let something go as well as all these Hawk posters you are seeing everywhere.

Strasburg fans remember these are all just kids playing a game tonight!! He did what he did, but they are still kids. I sure hope the adults can act like adults tonight and not start any child like nasty chants. Ill be pulling for the Tigers, but fans keep it clean?

Anyone going to the game? I was thinking about it, but I just think it is going to a mess with the situation and this being the opener at their new place.

I am going. Too late for you now wes. I doubt there will be tickets at the doors. Strasburg's home opener was against Smithville.
