Little Danny;445166 wrote:All the Right Moves has always been my personal favorite. Like someone else said the movie reminded me a lot of high school football most particularly in the Ohio Valley area/Western PA.

Another movie I always liked that has not been mentioned is Best of TImes, starring Robin Williams and Kurt Russell. It was pretty hilarious IMO plus there were some great football scenes.

The Longest Yard remake was a bastardization of the original.

I love this movie!!

I was going to mention this. I've tried to rent it before, but can't find it. Was actually a made for tv movie called "Fighting Back"....in the same mold as Brian's Song but a happier ending :)

I don't have the movie any longer, but still have the book I would be willing to loan it to anyone who wants to read it.

Ever notice how guys who were bench warmers themselves (or worse - up in the stands with the other women) always pick F'n Rudy as their favorite football movie?

Guys who actually played the game tend to go with Titans or FNL.

Another good one is Junction Boys. It was an under the radar kind of movie. A good flick though. If you haven't seen it you should check it out.

My favorite is Friday Night Lights. Most realistic looking football and of all the movies, it's the one that is most about the football. Other movies are really about something else and football is how they convey the story. In FNL football is at the forefront of telling the story of this town, and not the other way around.

Also, I've always thought that the Al Pichino speech was a bit overrated. In my opinion, this is the best speech from any football movie.

Kinda off topic...but does anyone know if last week's TV episode of FNL was the series finale? Sorta felt like it with all the goodbyes at the end. If it was the end sorry to see it go.

well ain't we the literal one? I didn't mean you actually HAD to play football to like the Titans...but alot of wannabes and never-weres looove Rudy. And the crazy thing is the real Rudy has made a life out of giving "pep talks" to rotary clubs and jaycees. And the guy is the worst public speaker I've ever heard. Another example of a wasted ND education.
