What did I spend this money on you may ask? I used Vista Print to get 250 Ohio Chatter business cards to hand out at football games this year. The cards themselves were free and the $13.68 was for priority shipping.

I feel pretty satisfied about this...haha

Hopefully by doing this, we can add a bunch of people to the site and get this place hoppin!

well, on a good note I searched google for something mentioned on here and the post on the OC showed up as the #2 result on google.

What about having an OC twitter account for people to follow/mention? Might be a good way for people to share scores and what not? Not sure how many people on here are twitterers...

I've got a twitter account for OC but I've never used it. Not a bad idea to start using it.

Link? I'll follow it. I really don't use twitter other than to get updates from sports "insiders" and the like but I'd report scores on there or whatever for football season, etc.

there is a way to feed it with top threads.... i dunno how to do it though. but mods can choose threads right off of the forum and feed it to twitter.

At the top of the thread in the administrative tool bar, there is a share button. Click that and "tweet this" is an option. Would that do it?

Just shared the site on facebook with the link tab..........over 400 friends will catch a glimpse...hopefully I can pull some bretheren in. EVERYONE with Facebook should link a topic that relates to your area to provide the "FREE ADVERTISING"

just my 2 cents worth here, but if we're targeting high school football attendees (includes students, parents, teachers, etc) to come to this sight, and they start looking around and come across the thread "Discuss Katy Perry's Vag__a", (which is presently one of the tp threads on Serious Business) don't think that's going to go over very well.

Ahh man. I'm not a Twitter fan, but now I HAVE to get one so I can follow the OC. Plus my new phone syncs with Twitter, so my updates would be easy. I think? I've never used it.

Update: I am now on Twitter as AndrewMarcum.

Just threw a plug up on www.facebook.com/tsportsreport Toledo's CBS affiliate. They have a Big Board Friday for football (and basketball) scores.

I am sure that this has been said before at some point...but just in case it hasn't...I think two of the best places to promote the site will be the championship weekends for HS football and basketball. I don't know anything about the basketball ones, but there seems to be plenty opportunities at the football finals for sure. Some thoughts are (I have no clue how much cash you want to drop on this site, so there are all sorts of different ranges):

-TV commercials on STO during the games
-Scoreboard Ads during the games
-banners around the field
-booths set up to promote
-various members passing out flyers to every single person that comes in the gates
-use a plane to fly a banner over the stadiums during the games
-announcements over the PA system throughout games
-or maybe some other forms of advertising where different site members hold up signs and fun stuff like that

Maybe get in contact with whoever is in charge of advertising for the games and see what other opportunities there are.

The plane is by far the best idea. You could fly that bitch over as many fields as possible in one night. Get it going. Better yet, a hot air balloon, and just float above the field all night.
