I agree as well.
Is there a way to create a "wall" between the high school forums and the others? Is it possible to filter the cursing in just the high school forum? Not that I have seen any major cursing going on in them.
Basically the non high school forums can have some "R" rated language in them and PG-13 pics. Maybe when someone joins and they want to view the non high school forums, they have to make a one time acknowledgment that they are 17 or older to view the content, just like at the movies. I know most kids will just click on it anyways but at least there is an acknowledgment of the possible content and no surprises.
Give a statement to some effect on the site's policy on the non high school forums, noting the liberal rules on the content of member's posts. Maybe just acknowledging that offensive language is discouraged but not prohibited.
Even though this site may not advertise itself as primarily a high school sports site, because we have high school forums and would promote the site at a high school function, could create the possibility of some sort of liability. Clicking and acknowledging would virtually eliminate that liability.
Just an idea.
It may not be possible with the software the chatter runs on. Justin would have the answer to that.
