The thing people miss is that somehow they have forgotten the past 50 years of NBA champions. Hardly anybody wins a title by themselves surrounded by guys like Larry Hughes or Antawn Jamison. Most champions have 2+ great players on their team

Kobe, Gasol
Garnett, Pierce, Allen
Kobe, Shaq
Duncan, Ginobli, Parker
Duncan, Robinson
'Sheed, Prince, Billups, Hamilton
Jordan, Pippen
^That's all fairly recent. Look back at the olden days and it's even more clear you need another guy to help you win.

But for some reason people think that one and one man only is required to carry his team to a title, or else that man has no legacy.

No. Its more like Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern. Superman and Batman did quite well on their own, Green Lantern (Bosh) was good but not as well publicized. Together, the Justice League pretty much dominated the world. I don't remember Superman and Batman fighting over who the better was.

This from the dude that had a topic because he had a girlfriend at one point. Anyone that goes onto a message board to advertise the fact that they have a girlfriend is probably the one that needs to get laid.

Case in point. In case anybody was wondering. Like dynasty says, the fact that you feel the need to broadcast you have a girlfriend and are "getting laid" on a message board tells me that you probably aren't.

if he's not getting the attention as "the guy",then yes--I do....maybe not at first, but he will explode--guaranteed.

This is one topic on which we 100% agree. A couple other championship teams whose personnel moves were critical to their titles:

Rockets - Olajuwon gets Drexler
76ers - Dr. J gets Moses Malone

That doesn't even address that guys like Bird, McHale, and Parish as well as Magic, Kareem, and Worthy all managed to co-exist with "the guy" sometimes changing (moreso in the case of the Lakers with two guys that have strong cases for best of all-time).

Exactly. I was going to include those teams but it was before my time. Just didn't feel like I had the chops to discuss them since they were before my time. Those are all-time great teams and they had 3 great players who all seemed to have no problem co-existing for the greater good

I actually agree with you that he needs the attention. The thing is, if they win titles he will get that attention. Wade is going to go quietly about his business and there'll be plenty of spotlight for LeBron, even if Wade "outplays" him. The only thing that will hurt LeBron is if they don't win.

It was a topic because I wanted to change my name, not to advertise I had/have a girlfriend.

Thing is.....if a player appears to be about himself and being "the man" rather than being about winning and co-existing/sharing glory with other stars.....they get knocked and labeled as selfish. Now, a player is going elsewhere and appears to be putting his ego to the side (yes, I saw the hour-long "Decision" special) to an extent and it seems to be a case of wanting to win instead of wanting all of the attention and glory that comes along with being "the man".....and he gets hammered for settling for "second fiddle" status.

Damned if ya' do, damned if ya' don't.

Do you really think that LeBron is going to be sorry if he wins titles with D Wade? You retards are the only ones who appear to put any stock in being "the guy". And you haven't even seen how its going to play out. What is going to make D Wade "the guy" over LeBron? The fact that he lived in Miami first?

Exactly. They are clueless.

"OMG LeBron is a sidekick ring chaser!!!"

AIDS? Pittsburgh? wtf does that have to do with the topic? Very mature of you. lmao

Also, who is "the guy" in Miami?

Yeah, that is probably going to cost him some endorsement deals. Nobody wants a second fiddle winner. Or those that do will have to put a disclaimer on all of his commercials to make sure they aren't falsely advertising a "real" superstar.

It's more in line when someone wants to proclaim that they are not gay, when actually, they are.
