It's funny how Ohio State schedules one good team for OOC play (Miami, Southern Cal, Washington, Texas, North Carolina State, Washington State, UCLA...) and Notre Dame has played/scheduled all of them except Texas and you continue to bitch. What the fuck. Plus Ohio State got destroyed by Florida and beaten by LSU.....so what's your point there? Notre Dame has already scheduled Oklahoma for the future too. You need to see some sort of doctor for how dumb you've become.

But in all seriousness I agree with you. Notre Dame needs to fucking win and they need to fucking win now. But that has 100% to do with the coaches and players and 0% to due with the conference in my opinion. Brian Kelly wasn't my first choice to replace Weis, but I like him a lot and think he will bring Notre Dame back....without having to use pink jerseys.

You nailed it again Mooney...when I first read what will now go down in OC lore as "the Wallet Story" I was thinking what kind of pussy writes this as supportive evidence for his argument as to why his team should be taken seriously? But consider the source too...Athlete37 comes in a close third to Kock Rutne and Lotz in wishing their final moment will be in the Grotto taking it anally from the ghost of Johnny Lujack (now thats tradition!!!).

For someone who claims to "ignore" me you sure seem to jump all over my posts whenever they come in Kock Rutne.

I don't know what elese needs to be said, ND has legitimate reasons for remaining independent, they don't need to join a conference.

Past blunders in coaching hires are the real problem............hiring a guy without a background check, extending a contract on speculation and running a great coach out of town are the real reasons ND has been down, not conference affiliation.

Mooney, I will say the future looks bright, Kelly seems to be a proven college football coach, recruiting still looks good and the schedule will get back to what ND used to play when teams like Oklahoma come on board in a couple years.

The ND fan base in general, epsecially on here, takes a lot of unwarranted heat IMO. A lot of us concede the fact that OSU is and has been a better program for a while now. Also, a few of us have spoken out in favor joining a conference before. A few of us were very critical of Charlie Weis when it wasn't popular (amongst ND fans) to do so.

Credit to mooney as I agree with most of what he said. What I'm about to say isn't intended to shit on mooney's post/viewpoint. This isn't anything new. Some of you are acting as if someone just had a revelation and an ND fan finally spoke out. It's been said before so don't act as if the entire ND fan base agrees with every decision ND has made and can't be objective about ND. Some of us have criticized ND when it's been warranted.

I just think that ND fans in general get a bad rap. We're not all the mindless homers that some of you make us out to be.

That's fine. I maintain my stance though. Because, as I said, some on here lump us all together and the entire fan base is criticized for the views/behavior of a few on here. And it's a fact that some on here lump us ND fans together and it's way off base. Not everybody does that though....hence the "some" that I typed in that last post. But I don't think you or anyone else can deny that some unfairly lump us all together and make blanket statements.
