that article is like Goebbels telling Hitler why Auchwitz was a good idea...reach in and grab some non-partisan perspective from the clue bag Rock -deleted- Fab1b. Face it... Mooney is dead right on and threatening your position as Head Potato Farmer here on the OC.

Funny you should post the "No Means No" article, as that is exactly what sparked my anger last night. Even the headline is obnoxious. I'd like to read a non-bias opinion of why theres absolutely no reason why Notre Dame should join a conference.

NDNation has quickly become one of my least favorite sites on the internet. The air of college football snobbery reeks in there. They'd rather argue about why some residence life guy is making game-day boring than talk about why the team has blown for the past 15 years and how to solve it.

Too many ND grads in there.....and ND grads tend to be the worst offenders of Notre Dame arrogance and snobbery.

LOL.......it's an ND site, what do you expect. Regardless of what you think of the authors and the site, they make some very compelling points as to why ND should remain independent.

BTW, I don't know what you've been reading on there but there's plenty of articles and posts on why ND has been down and possible solutions to fix the problem.

You disagree? If the 4 major conferences form and ND stays independent they will be even more irrrelevant than they already are. But hey...at least they will be on national TV every Saturday....so they at least got that going for them.

Big if at this point.

I don't understand at all how Notre Dame can be so irrelevant yet the Big Ten has tried very hard 2 times in the last 15 years or so to get them to join.

I wish we'd take a page out of the Yankees book and form our own network for athletics and get it on cable/satelite like the YES network. Maybe then at least we'd be able to have commentators who aren't rooting against us. Joining the B10 B12 or staying indy it doesn't matter because one way or another we're still a name value and whether we win or lose, ESPN's of the world will keep talking about us. Having Northwestern or Iowa or Minnesota on the regular schedule would not diminish the ND brand name value.

Yep, irrelevant to the point haters like you keep posting about them on message boards.

I don't know if you took the time to read my first post on this subject Auto but that will answer your question.

When I say irrelevant I mean when it comes to competing for a title and BCS bowl Ws..... accomplishments, hell even a conference title. If I were an ND fan I'd be tired of the independent BS.

Join a conference and come play with the big boys.

Also, how is what I said hating? You really do take comments to heart don't you? Thicken that skin!

LOL.........I've NEVER read a positive post from you regarding ND, NEVER! How would you take that?

BTW, ND does play the "big boys" and plays them on their own terms........and before you spout off, you surely don't want to compare past and future schedules, because in most instances it's not even close.

lol why do you care so much what I say? You act like the personal defender of all Italy and ND. Its true I do not like ND, but follow their program and I just call it like I see it.

So you don't think ND joining a conference would give them a better shot at success? Also, I really don't care about their schedule. Where has that gotten them lately in terms of ACCOMPLISHMENTS?

This isn't anything new. Shit, I've been saying for a couple of years now (on JJ's before and on Ohio Chatter the last several months) that I wanted ND to join the Big 10. So did a couple other ND fans (Mots comes to mind). A lot of the reasons given for not wanting them to join were bullshit and that's been said before.

For a second I felt left out that I didn't get pats on the back from the likes of Tiernan and NCF but then I remembered that I don't want those fucking assholes touching me anyways.

LMAO.......why do you care what I say? You seem to always have a smart ass remark to my posts yet you tell me to grow some thick skin, laughbale!

As for the schedule, you said to come play with "the big boys", IMO and that of many others outside of this forum, the Big 10 isn't exactly the big boys. Also, I will refer you to my initial post on this thread as to why I feel ND has been down......take a couple seconds and read it!

I'm thinking he meant OSU, Nebraska, PSU, etc. According to most preseason top 25s, the Big 10 has 4 in the top 11.

I'm looking for answers to these questions. Because IMO this is what it all boils down to.

This started out as a good topic but as usual some on here had to take it down to a minor league level.

The only plus for Notre Dame staying an independent is money(greed)

Thats cuz you've always played second banana to the likes of Kock Rutne and Lotz as the biggest Shamrock Molesters on the OC and now here comes this feller Mooney sounding like a freakin' genius and he's the toast of the thread. Hell I might see if he wants to go watch a game with me at one of those "hundreds" of ND bars that are supposedly out there. I'd really like to know where those are located. they must be in either Shanty Town or Dago 'Ville cuz I aint seen any here in c-bus.

What was the plus, from the Big Ten's prospective, for Notre Dame joining the conference?? Money(GREED).
