After an 8-3 season last year that saw us make the playoffs and finish 2nd in the Principals Athletic Conference behind Manchester, what are everyone's thoughts for this season? I, personally, am excited for the season! I don't really know how we're going to be, yet, but it's good to be talking football again.

We lose a number of contributors that will be missed greatly - Zach Houmard, Cole Drake, Ales Hoessle, Brandon Butcher, Jared Bardall, Matt Butterbaugh, Trevor Hankins, and Devin Collins, among others. However, we return our quarterback, 5 of our top 6 rushers (including our top rusher), and 58% of our total tackles (60% of sacks). We definitely have a solid core to build on, but still have some big shoes to fill in all three phases of the game, especially receiving, scoring, kicking and kick returns.

Last year's schedule w/ results: http://www.joeeitel.com/hsfoot/teams...09&teamID=1548

2010 Football Schedule
08/27 H West Holmes
09/03 A Orrville
09/10 H Waynedale
09/17 H Tuslaw
09/24 H CVCA
10/01 A Indian Valley
10/08 A Manchester
10/15 H Tusky Valley
10/22 A Fairless
10/29 H Timken

According to www.HighSchoolSports.net, it looks like we have 6 home games this season. However, we have to play @ Manchester again. So, what are everyone's thoughts for this coming 2010 football season?

Go Titans!

Summer work outs are under way. Some solid players who didn't get a lot of time last season will step up this season.

I like six home games. Don't like playing at Chester again but I am sure Tuslaw and CVCA aren't excited about coming back to The Swamp this year either for a second straight year.

Will be an exciting year.

Go Titans.

We need more Triway chatters here on the OC. I think I am going to place an ad for the OC in the fall sports program..

Are all the other guys we used to chat with still over on the other site? We need to get them here.

Let me know how much it costs, and I'll pitch in a little bit. Haha! Hopefully we can get some more people over here, 'cuz I don't feel like hopping between three different sites to say the same stuff over and over.

I would like to see Wooster v. Triway in football. But who does Triway drop to make it happen? West Holmes and Waynedale are backyard rivalries. And they can pick up so many play off points from Orrville.

It needs to happen in 2011. That will be my son's last year at Triway. I would like to see him be part of it.

I see he was lised as an offensive lineman and linebacker last year. I see no reason that would change, but I could be wrong. I thought he did well at LB for a Sophomore. He was 4th on the team in total tackles last year, and I see him improving on that this season.

Here is a list of some of the non-Triway scrimmages.

Fri, 8/13 - Tuslaw, Waynedale @ West Holmes (listed at 6:00 PM)
Sat, 8/14 - Fairless @ Dalton (10:00 AM; depends on time of Triway's scrimmage.. 5 PM?)
Thu, 8/19 - Waynedale @ Indian Valley (5:00 PM) or Claymont @ West Holmes (6:00 PM)

Anybody have a list of 7-on-7's for any opponents?

Man... we still have 2 months until the first game!

I cannot wait, either. I'm missing the first 7-on-7 because of an Akron Aeros game, but I should be able to make the rest of our preseason events. Ringz, you going to any of those opponents' scrimmages I listed above?

Keep working hard, Titans!

Probably not going to any of them. August is kind of a busy month for me and I really need to prioritize my schedule just to make the Triway scrimmages.

I look forward to a rundown of Thursday's 7-on-7. I am not able to make it. Of course, it's just the first real event of the pre-season, but it's still fun to get some talk started.

Good luck Titans! Keep preparing and working hard.

I thought both Triway and Smithville looked good tonight for their first seven on seven. The QB from Smithville had a couple of really nice long throws. DC looked sharp. Glad to see some younger receivers make some nice plays.

On defense Smithville has a couple of really nice LB's which cover well. Triway had nice coverage overall.

On to Bucyrus Saturday

Carmichael was impressive, kid is accurate and throws a beautiful ball. Smithville did well to keep the Titan receivers in front of them but Carmichael at times, picked them apart with well placed passes. If Triway can establish a ground game, their offense will be tough to stop. The Triway defense looked a little flat footed as Smithville's receivers were able to run past them a few times. Bates to Buss was strong today. :)

Good luck this season Titans!!
