Saw this on another forum, so take it for what it's worth:

There are a couple new rumors floating about, neither with much apparent credibility so take them for what they are. One claims Sprint is getting a CDMA iPhone as well as Verizon, another says Sprint is, but not Verizon.

Doubtful, as its been all but confirmed that there is a company currently producing a CDMA version of the iPhone. Considering CDMA is really only predominantly used in the United States, and mostly by Verizon and Sprint, this is the logical conclusion.

Oh and the report about that company building the CDMA iPhones? It wasn't some random tech blog or internet rumor, it was a story I believe in the New York Times or Wall Street Journal a few months back.

The same can be said about most Apple products.

Obviously Verizon is the obvious choice for Apple over Sprint. Verizon is the nations largest wireless provider and they have more than twice as many subscribers as Sprint. However, Verizon is big enough that they don't really need the iPhone and so they aren't willing to put up with a lot of Apple's crap. When the iPhone first came out it was first offered to Verizon but they declined because Apple wouldn't allow them to offer their "New Every Two" discount on the phone (among other reasons). When Verizon said no they went to AT&T. Not that either one really needs to the other, but the iPhone Apple would benefit more by having the iPhone on Verizon than Verizon would benefit by having it.

Sprint would really benefit from it, since nobody cares about their network because it sucks.

That's funny because Sprint has one of the biggest coverage areas of any company.

I also have great service with Sprint.

Because Sprint probably roams on other CDMA networks (Verizon)

Umm...no

It's the reason why we have so many smart phone options now. No one gave a crap about Apps, until The App Store dropped. RIM had an APP store, but they didn't know wtf they were doing with it on BBs.

I'm not an owner, but I have no problem admitted the iPhone is one badass piece of technology. My friend just showed me the other day.....He has an app that turns the screen into a scale. Get my drift!?! Ya thats badass.

Good choice by Apple since the Androids are starting to eat up a lot of market share.

I think it pretty much the same phone(under the hood) other than screen size and kick stand. The reviews are pretty much the same as well.

It just seems sluggish to me for some reason and the screen so small..... Also HTC has pushed 2 updates out to the EVO and none for the incredible and they yelling more than the EVO people!!! Not sure if bigger problems being addressed for the Incredible or what but I couldnt see myself using the incredible after my hands on with it at work.

lol. Buddy of mine just switched from Verizon to AT&T this morning for the iPhone. He wasn't too happy when I informed him of this.
