I understand how tight Lebron and Jent are, but this just doesn't make sense. You want a coach who isn't a "yes sir" to Lebron, and that's exactly what Jent would be.
No, but he is in the running possibly, a very slim possibility. Jent is very good at what he does and has the respect of LeBron. But this is coming from the Chicago Sun, so I doubt it.

I don't think he is a "yes" man to LeBron at all. LeBron went to him for help, not the other way around. Obviously LeBron is listening to what Jent is saying and not just doing what he wants.
I LOVE Chris Jent and think he will get a job eventually, but I think this is a stretch. Obviously the Cavs are only looking at Jent because of his relationship with Lebron, but if Lebron does stay in Cleveland, I would think they would be able to attract a bigger name.

But I guess that it's only a rumor at this point. Personally, I still think there's a chance that Ferry is let go. The whole organization is in limbo and it's just really hard to speculate what might happen at this point.

"Sources" say that LBJ and Bosh are seriously considering joining Wade in Miami. Hey, I think it should happen... but I have to laugh at the term sources now-a-days. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67033/20100605/source_lebron_bosh_seriously_considering_joining_wade_in_miami/

Other "sources" are saying that he's strongly leaning towards the Bulls. Apparently he wanted Brown and Ferry gone as well and that Gilbert knew exactly where he stood. Gilbert is also targeting Izzo as his man, but would hire Cal if LBJ wanted it. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67031/20100605/wesley_claims_lebron_leaning_strongly_toward_bulls/

Take it for what it's worth. Just another day's BS in this big FA mess.

Damn... Not too sure how credible that is, but Bosh and LeBron with Wade would be nasty.

Exactly my thoughts. Funny thing is, those guys wouldn't have to take pay cuts. They could round that team out with solid talent for cheap. But yeah, I don't believe the source. Probably just as knowledgeable as me saying I wish it would happen.

One of you other guys have probably talked about it on here already. And it's something many figured would happen. But it appears Grant is seeing what he can get for Delonte or Mo. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=NBA&hl=136600

unless they get a bunch of old vets to join them the bench will be terrible and these guys will have to play major minutes

I'm not sure if this was posted.....really nothing new but here it is

http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2010/06/new_cleveland_cavaliers_genera.html

Moves coming? Despite the changeover in the front office, it appears Grant may hit the ground running. According to league sources, the Cavs have been involved in trade talks over the past several days. They appear to be judging the market to make a move ahead of the June 23 draft.

While the Cavs are looking to acquire a draft pick, sources indicate they are also looking to potentially make a significant player trade. It could involve one of the starters from last season. As usual, the Cavs may be willing to take on salary both short and long term to get a deal done.

------------

Heard some of the guys on KNR mention Golden State. Possibly Monta Ellis and the 6th pick

Yes, moves will be made and I highly doubt you'll see Delonte and Mo playing for the Cavaliers next season.

Windy stated that Cleveland is in talks with a Cali team involving a lottery pick.

I would think it has to be the Clippers or Warriors. I dont see a trade happening with the Kings

He also said that expect any trade that Cleveland makes would involve a Western Conference team more than likely.

Well, the NBA season is over after a great year. July is right around the corner. This could get pretty wild in the coming weeks. Which NBA team will create a team powerful enough to dethrown the Lakers? If you guys are like me.. the only time you'll be tunning into ESPN is for the Draft.

Cavs fans, let me ask you a question. If Philly takes Turner and they look to trade Iggy, would you guys want the Cavs to make an offer?

Iggy is an upgrade over Anthony Parker. I wouldn't give up a whole lot, but he'd be an improvement

Iggy on the right team is great. Look at what got him paid in the first place. The pure and simple fact is he played on a team with a demanding fan base and they needed someone to anoint the superstar. He isn't that, but once he got paid, he was thought to be it and expectations became sky high. Put him as a solid #3 or good 2nd option with a superstar and he all of the sudden becomes a piece to build a team around.

Absolutely you take Iggy. He's instantly the Cavs 2nd best player behind Lebron, or their best if he leaves. He is a very underrated player in the NBA because as Azu said, he's forced to be the guy in Philladelphia, when he's not a #1 guy. Make him a second option and he'll succeed.

Some interesting takes. I havn't thought much about it. Just read about it and was curious how Cavs fans would feel now. I know this has been talked about in the past, but much has changed since it was popular talk.

Maggette traded to Bucks

The Bucks completed a trade late Tuesday afternoon to acquire forward Corey Maggette from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for guard Charlie Bell and center Dan Gadzuric, according to basketball sources.

Nice move for the Bucks IMO. If Salmons will resign with them they've got a pretty nice team.

Hoopshype is reporting that Salmons is going to walk.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been told by guard John Salmons he will opt out of his contract by the June 30 deadline and become an unrestricted free agent.

"He's given us indications that he will opt out,'' Milwaukee general manager John Hammond, named NBA Executive of Year in part because of last February's acquisition of Salmons from Chicago, said in an interview Tuesday with FanHouse.

I'm aware of that. However, it doesn't mean he's walking. It may only mean he wants more years and money. If the Bucks are willing to pay him what he wants, that's a team that can be in the playoffs next year-- even if the East gets all shuffled around because of FA.

Some things to note today:

Miami has waived James Jones as expected. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67568/20100629/heat_waive_james_jones/

The Nets are close to trading Yi to the Wizards for cap space and maybe a pick. They're trying to get those 2 max players. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67565/20100629/nets_close_to_trading_yi_to_wizards_opening_up_more_cap_space/
