A few things.......the way the Pens played tonight was exactly how they played last year, physical, tons of pressure and tons of shots. That goal 18 seconds in may have finally been the wake up call they needed. The Pens were impressive at keeping the Sens away from the goal tonight, not allowing them to crash the net and cause confusion in front of Fleury.
Fleury bounced back tonight, as he always does. Although he didn't face a bombardment of shots, he made some key saves when they needed them.
Is there anything Sidney Crosby can't do? His back checking was unreal tonight, in the right place at the right time, especially when he cleared that puck off the goal line. If he dawned the pads he'd probably be one hell of a goalie too.
Malkin has to step it up Sunday in Ottawa! If the Pens can get Geno and Sid firing on all cylinders, no one will beat them.
Finally, the league had better review Sutton's BS cheap shot on Leopold. They implemented a rule for shots to the head after Cooke's incident and clearly that was a vicious elbow by Sutton to the head. If he isn't suspended for at least 2 games (should be more IMO) then Colin Campbell should be fired!
