Ask a mainline Christian or Jew what the main tenants of their faith are and they can probably explain them to you in less than a minute. However with Scientology, you have to keep paying heaps of money to get to the next level and find out the next secret. It's a classic bait and switch.
And those other religions weren't founded as a ponzi scheme designed to evade taxes.

Christianity was not designed to improve Jesus life at all, in fact it imperiled him. He did it for the common good of the people and even gave his own life for the cause he believed in. Scientology was designed by a money hungry sci-fi writer who was dangerously narcissistic

So Jews and Christians didn't pay taxes thousands of years ago when they were founded?

What?! It's called a "tithe" for a reason. It was the tax when the "religion" was part of the "state." Rabbis were "state" employees that were paid through the tithe. Tithe, literally (by definition), is a 10% tax -- which makes no sense when people say that "you should tithe 10% to the church."

Just finished the book last night. Obviously, I already knew that Scientology was fucking crazy, as are the majority of the followers. But the level of abuse, secrecy, money...it is just insane.

The idiots that practice this insanity are the same idiots who probably have sold Amway at sometime in their lives. Just watching that freak L Ron Hubbard speak (something about his mouth) would immediately have turned me against anything he was saying.

Just watched. All protected under the umbrella of religion. Sad.

It's all pretty fucked up, and pretty sad. I cannot begin to imagine how messed up these people have to be to believe this shit.

Jews and Christians still pay taxes today...they all pay personal income taxes, even pastors/priests/rabbis.

There is a documentary on Netflix called My Scientology Movie that was pretty interesting. The documentarian followed around one of Miscavige's former "enforcers".
