A girl who was killed was also at the toronto mall shooting. In her essay she said she bought her food at 6:20 and the shooting happened at 6:23. She said "A feeling that was overwhelming enough to lead me to head outside in the rain to get fresh air instead of continuing back into the food court to go shopping at SportChek. The gunshots rung out at 6:23. Had I not gone outside, I would've been in the midst of gunfire."

Terrible - it's like real life final destination

Going to see TDKR on Sunday afternoon and my Mom is watching our 2-year old daughter and 3-month old son. Was never even a question to take them with us or not. That's just common sense.

Regardless, prayers go out to all those killed, injured or affected by this senseless bullshit. SMH

Horrible. Just horrible. It's times like these that I wish the victims' families got to choose this asshole's fate. Thoughts and prayers.

You know it. I think that is ridiculous when people blame the screwed up actions of a person on music, movies, etc. Millions of people have seen these movies and listened to those songs and they didn't do that crazy shit, just one or a few.

A person who does that stuff has some serious issues and it's not the fault of the movie, music, etc.

I agree, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this guy turned out to have severe mental problems.

Even if this is arguably bad press for the movie. I think a gesture from them along the lines of donating a small % or amount of ticket sales from this opening weekend for a fund to help for counseling for family members of the injured and those involved in this situation would go a long way to start to turn this thing around.

This is a case where you take him into court the next day, let him try to plead his case, take him out in the parking lot and let a firing range shread him.

My fiance has been waiting forever to see this movie. She just found out about the shooting and texted me "I think I will wait to see Dark Knight Rises. :-("

In true French fashion, they've raised the white flag and cancelled the Paris premier of The Dark Knight Rises.

I am all for French jokes...but I actually understand the move. I am pretty sure the actors and Christopher Nolan don't want to field questions about the shooting. Especially since it's so new and so few details have been confirmed. I don't think it would be a good situation.

what questions would they have to answer? atleast what questions would they have to answer where the answer wouldnt be "we feel sorry for the victims of this tradgic event".

So what would be the point of having a premiere and doing interviews when the answer to every question will be "we feel sorry for the victims of this tradgic event"? I don't think now is the time to speculate about the shooters motives, intentions, etc. and I have a hard time believing that reporters/interviewers wouldn't ask those exact questions.

Fuck the French and fuck them for overreacting to an isolated incident. This had nothing to do with the movie. It was some asshole that was looking for a good time to get a crowd of people together. Or maybe he was just a huge Ice Age fan and didn't want Batman to take over #1 this week. Yea, that's it.

The French didn't do anything nor overreact to anything. Warner Brothers cancelled the event.

I saw an article where the mom was quoted as saying something along the lines of "you have the right person". This guy clearly had some previously known serious issues.

By this logic, the shooter could likely be an OC member.

ABC Good Morning America is trying their best to give their liberal spin. They said they don't know if its the same person, but there is a member of the Aurora Tea Party with the same name as the shooter.
