It's much much harder now to pay for college than 15-20 years ago. There simply aren't any $13-18 jobs out there for college students. You're lucky to get $10

Hmm, I would have figured that would have required some schooling (not necessarily college but maybe a trade school or technical program). I still think you're probably one of the few people that are able to find well paying work without a college degree.

I live just fine off of what I make. Thanks. If you can't live comfortably off of my household income...you have a fucking problem.

Yes.

On the balance, college is still a good investment for most. I think where things have changed is that 30 years ago, simply going to college might have put you in a good spot. At this point, other factors are important, also, e.g. where you go to school, what you study, what grades you pull. At this point, I wouldn't want to graduate at the bottom of my class at State U with a women and gender studies degree and tons of debt.

Going to college won't make up for otherwise making stupid decisions. But going to college and earning a worthwhile degree absolutely will open doors for most people.

People forget that you don't just get a piece of paper from college. You learn a bunch of stuff that's useful and many times essential for your field.
