nobody forgets the regular season. the haters just make it out that the purdue game was the whole season. he played very well after that game. Some games his stats werent very impressive but he did take care of the ball.thedynasty1998 wrote:I get what you are saying, but look at the Heisman hopefuls who were invited to New York last year, who did McCoy put his big numbers up against?centralbucksfan wrote: Seriously, what is with the facination with Ryan Mallett? His team lost 5 games last year. Those 5 games, were all the "good" teams on Ark schedule. Check out his stats in those games. In all but one of those, he was below 50% passing. And that game was against Georgia, who turned out not to be very good. He balooned all his stats against the worst part of the schedule. Honestly don't think he deserves to be mentioned in the "preseason" list. Maybe as season goes. But until he does something against a quality team....I don't believe he has earned much.
And you could make that same argument against Pryor, although because he did play well against Oregon everyone seems to forget the regular season.
I don't think it's laughable to put either of those two in the discussion. Pryor has his stage against Miami. Mallett is as talented as any QB in the country and carried his team last year. He's really not playing with as much talent as everyone else in the SEC.
