David Bell continues to blow my mind. He takes Disco out in the 6th after 85 and dominating them because he gives up a double on a ball that Winker should have caught. Winker played it totally wrong and still almost made the catch though. 

A guy who graduated from the local high school (Sebring) was the 2nd base umpire for the Reds/Mets game yesterday. Very small school...maybe 25 in his graduating class.

Looks like with the departure of S and L, 25% of the OC Reds fan base is gone.

I just looked at the lineup and Senzel will be batting second.

I also noticed that Sonny Gray is batting 8th ahead of the catcher.?

I just did a little googling and found out that this strategy is being used more and more. Besides trying to get more runners on base for the #2 hitter, if your pitcher is getting a 3rd at bat, it doesn’t matter because he is pitching well.

I've watched the Reds a few times with a friend and we've both come to the conclusion that Bell is one of those self-proclaimed "smartest guy in the room" people who thinks he's a master of substitutions, whether it be at the plate, in the field or on the mound; where he goes off a spreadsheet to take people out, regardless of whether it actually is a remotely good idea to do so or not.

Why not take out Votto then?

Here’s what ever MLB hitter will tell you....when they’ve had 2 HR in the first few AB of a game and 3 hits overall....they don’t give any fucks who is pitching to them. 

Hot is hot. Bell took JJ Redick out at half after scoring 32 points in first half and replaced him with Aaron Craft because defense.

Reds send Schebler down and bring up another pitcher.

Takes out a pitcher that is pinpoint sharp and brings in Iglesias and game over immediately 

Iglesias is having a rough go this season.
