We've all had childhood traumas. Maybe a beloved pet died or the loss of a parent or maybe moving far away from all your friends.

One of mine was, growing up on a farm, finally realizing what was happening when a couple of animals were being loaded up in a trailer. About 6 or 7 years old. Now, I knew what going to the market meant and remember saying to a couple of the animals that I hoped they were going to a nice home. But one day, and I remember this so clearly, I remember asking why the trailer only had a couple of pigs in it and why the rest were staying home. Well, my mother told me that we would talk about it later. And later we did talk and I was so traumatized lol! I felt that this was the most terrible thing ever and I couldn't stand it. I truly felt like I betrayed my "friends".

So what was some of your most memorable childhood traumas?

I had a similar experience at probably 8-9 years old I went to Florida with my grandmother to visit relatives and they had a farm. They literally chopped the heads off chickens one at a time on a stump and when I tell you that running around like a chicken with its head cut off is definitely a real thing. I didn’t eat chicken again until I went to college and had my first chicken wing which were 10c at the time and I couldn’t pass that up lol

Grandpa had a stump with two nails in it out behind the barn where the chickens got their heads chopped off.  Grandma would have a large metal tub with super hot water ready to dip the chickens in after most of the blood drained then we would pluck the feathers.  Never will forget that smell.

I still hate needles because of these two incidents.

I was getting vaccines and as a kid I was tiny. The doctor when giving me the shot hit a nerve. It paralyzed me from the waist down for a few days until it wore off. (My older brother thought it was funny and put my ninja turtles at the top of the steps so I couldn’t get to them)

Then I had appendicitis in second or third grade.  Parents took me to my doctor and he told them to rush me to the hospital. I get to children’s. They prepare me for surgery. The nurse shows me the IV needle and tells me if I move they will have to keep doing it. Instead of moving I passed out. Next thing I remember was coming to after surgery.
