With the passing of Jym Ganahl I thought this might be a good idea for a thread.

Who are your current favorite local news people? Who are some of the best ... or worst (I'm looking at you, Mike Davis) ... from the past.

I grew up on NBC4 out of Columbus so Jym Ganahl was my first weatherman.

Jym Ganahl also taught science at my grade school for a couple of years in the early 80s (while he still did his channel 4 gig). He was my science teacher in 7th grade. Very nice man, great science teacher too.

This is, indeed, a cool story, bro. He always seemed like a nice guy, glad to hear it was true.

I have nothing but fond memories. Loved seeing on tv over the years as well.

The Dream Team lineup on channel 4 was Jym Ganahl (weather), Jimmy Crum (sports), Doug Adair and Mona Scott (anchors).  Later on, I always liked Colleen Marshall too.
