I don't understand why people are so pre-emptively upset about this when nobody agreed with the conviction in the first place.

Most people said that about the gun charges (but LOL he's on video and the prosecutor is just supposed to ignore seeing a crime?).  No serious person said it about the tax fraud charges (including 3 felony counts).  I think for some reason he skated on money laundering charges - statute of limitations ran out in some cases.

You try what Hunter did with your taxes and you are definitely going to jail.

Ehhh, he probably did mean it at the beginning. Tough love and all of that. But it is his son and the only boy he had left. 

Like I said before, a presidential pardon is wayyyyyy at the bottom of the list of concerns that anybody, right or left, should have about the corruption that goes in in DC. 

I do hope, however, that this closes the book on the political persecutions and lawfare that's the Dems have been doing. I hope the Trump administration doesn't retaliate by doing the same. Yes, all indicators show that Trump will do it. But he says a lot of things he doesn't do. I'm content to let the Dems keep that stain.

I think the populist left and populist right have a good deal in common. Both of those groups are sick of the establishments shit. Totally over it. But there are other things they readily agree upon, too. And that's where we see the establishment start their attacks.

I do think it's an interesting prospect. In several ways Joe has already bucked the system. Putting on the MAGA hat, being very welcoming to Trump in the WH, etc. 

I'd be surprised, though, if Joe's handlers went that far. We have to keep in mind that those people want book deals, speaking tours and a comfy spot on CNN or MSNBC. They really have to be choosy as to how far they are willing to take the game. Also, some are probably keeping their chances of leniency from Trump at the forefront of their minds. 

But who knows? There's still time for that to happen 🤷‍♀️

I don't remember our govt going after BLM or antifa rioters like this after all the harm, destruction and murder they committed.

This incident happened at 6-6:30am, terrorizing the whole neighborhood. 

For the record, all of us with 2 brain cells knew Biden would pardon his son either now, end of his next term (if he had stayed in and won) or before he ever stepped foot in jail.

The part we are laughing at is that hypocrisy of lying about it for nearly a year, complaining about Trump’s pardons at the end of his last term, and also blaming current Trump (MSNBC and CNN are literally saying this is Trumps fault for changing the game/situation).

If it was my son and I was POTUS I would do it as well, most likely. I would have found a way to not deny it for a year though, even if it was just passing on the question when asked.

However I also believe they probably learned their lesson and I doubt they would do something like that again, which is really the point of crime and punishment in this country so I’m fine with letting them out.

You don't have to argue. But I will say that burning down a federal building, destroying small businesses and murdering others is - to me - far worse than citizens pushing their way into The People's House (granted, shitting in Nancy Pelosi's office was way over the top). We can certainly disagree on that without arguing about it.

The people who committed murder  got life in prison if I remember correctly. Like there aren’t unsolved unpunished murders except for those deemed self defense as far as I remember
