Who the hell is the president right now?
This was kind of my point with the opinion piece I posted in the election thread. Harris needs smooth sailing in October if she's going to win. This shitstorm that's happening right now on Biden's watch will make her guilty by association. The Republicans won't need an October "surprise" if the current regime keeps mishandling (or ignoring) things.
Joe Biden admitted on The View just last week that he has long since delegated power of domestic/foreign power over to Kamala Harris.
But Kamala thought it was too important to meet Alanis Morissette and eat lobster rolls on Sunday night thank it was to use her domestic powers.
If I was managing her campaign she would have went to the area of flooding and passed out drinkable water to people in need while having a camera trained on me to simulcast to that fundraiser. The moneybags attending would have seen her as a hard working, dirty handed hero and most likely would have opened up their purses a little more.

So I think I've noticed a trend where, if you leave the Democratic party, you get accused of being a Russian asset. Tulsi, now Elon, and yes also Donald Trump.
Think I even saw a blurb the other day about Joe Rogan pushing Russian propaganda. The Dems really have run out of plays, haven't they?
Less than a generation ago democrats told George W Bush he would piss off Putin and the Russians for wanting to build missile defense systems in eastern Europe, Hillary and Obama broke out the reset button, Mitt Romney was mocked by Obama for calling Russia a great geopolitical threat, and Obama watched as the Russians took Crimea. Now they are worried about Russian assets.

Interestingly, I'm listening to Pod Save America right now and they are talking about things they can do for Dems to win back some of their population. So far what they suggest is lame. It's like they truly don't have a clue. They don't understand the working class anymore, which *was* the party's bread and butter.

It also looks like Hunter being pardoned all the way back to 2014 means that he cannot invoke the 5th Amendment.
I'm not sure this was a good idea. Hunter probably would have gotten a slap on the wrist. But now, if he can't use the 5th, a shit ton of exposure is liable to happen.

I hadn't thought of that angle. Of course, Congress and [presumably] DOJ already looked into Joe and couldn't find evidence of wrongdoing. Which is a short way of saying if Hunter just lies to a committee it would be tough to prove.
He's also liable to just blame addiction for his inability to recall key facts they seek answers to.
As far as Joe I'm not sure how much more elder abuse the Republicans want to subject him to.

I don’t know and I don’t care. The point is , do you grant Pardons or Clemency to a couple business associates or maybe even friends or do you protect a son. Me myself I would do jail time for my son versus this so if that’s all you got, I’ve got nothing to tell you

Well, I know what to tell you and it's this:
I've already said, when it happened, that I didn't like the conviction. And more recently (yesterday) I said that I wasn't mad at Joe pardoning his son and that I most likely would do the same.
I don't understand why people are so pre-emptively upset about this when nobody agreed with the conviction in the first place.
I can only assume is that people need to feel an outrage 🤷♀️
Just to scale it back a little bit, the clemency had to be done because there is no way that Trump wouldn’t go after Joe’s son even after he complained about how the justice department was Weaponized against him which I semi agree with. No biggie just pointing out the hypocrisy
