I’m confused, as I thought Bieber was only brought up for a game or two, as he clearly isn’t ready to make the jump permanently...however, I like him for the bullpen.

Huh? He is our 5th starter. We sent him down at the break so he wouldn’t go 10 days without pitching.

Are you thinking of Plutko? Cause Bieber has nothing left to prove at AAA.

Bieber pitched well enough for the win and hasn't had very many bad outings. He battles and hasn't let the "Big time" get to him.

Tonight's loss is on the offense. You can't leave 125 people in scoring position.

I just don't think he's ready is all--seems like a good kid, but I have a feeling he'll be trade bait in the not too distant future

I could see a package of Bieber or McKenzie plus Chang. I think one of them and Chang would get it done. If we do trade Bieber I’d like to take back gio Gonzalez from the Nats as well to fill that 5th starter spot

Interesting...that being said, and I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not sure I even want Harper. He's not having a very good year, he'd be a rental for the remainder of the season, and he's an asshole. I really like the chemistry on this team, and I think he'd mess it up...strictly my opinion.

Harper gets a bad rep but the dude is like Bauer. Insanely competitive has that fire. While he is having a bad year for his standards, he has protection in this lineup and leads the league in walks. He would fit perfectly here

Agreed and I already see the "but we can't throw in Bieber for a rental" comments. How soon people forget Jaret Wright. Fans weren't bitching too much, after the fact, when the Cavs went all in and brought the city it's first championship in 50+ years.

If it costs us Bieber for Harper, to me it’s a no brainer. Especially with Mackenzie flying through the system. We have plenty of young talented arms in the minors. So if it takes losing Bieber to significantly better our outfield more all for it

If this would've been brought up during the Shapiro years, I would've been a little hesitant, because he couldn't draft his way out of a wet paper bag, but there are two things I no longer say...1) the Dolan's are cheap (they've proven otherwise to me) and 2) the front office/scouting system can't draft.

It's not as big a concern to me now as I feel the front office/scouts can replenish the farm system pretty fast. They've gotten pretty damn good at talent evaluation.

It's not about losing Bieber as much as it is "renting" a player like Harper--I just don't see the upside, especially with the mediocre season he's having...however, I have to ask-- wtf do the Cavs have to do with this???

The Cavs made a lot of moves to get themselves into a position to win a ring. Many would say they mortgaged their future. I don't think too many people would be upset if they traded a player and won a ring.

I do agree on your assessment of Harper though. I'd prefer to wait until after the deadline and go after someone like McCutchen.

Hoping the Giants falter in the next few weeks and they look to trade McCutchen in waiver deal.

Not many good options for CF right now.

Apparently looking at Zeigler.  That would be quite an improvement from a few weeks back when Miller comes back and they could be 7 quality arms in the pen.

I don’t necessarily think trading Bieber or McKenzie is the “right” move...but that’s what you acquire talent for. You get a window, and then strike during that window. Prospects should be used to rebuild or win now. In the Tribes case it’s win now, so they should be moved for the right player to help win now.
