Pick up ND (B1G) and Rutgers can GTFO.
If they join it will be ACC. They already are there for every sport and play a reduced football schedule with them (6 games versus 8).
ACC makes the least amount of money of the major conferences, I doubt they’d be into joining them. But who knows.
There is no way the Big 10 will give up a conference championship game and all of the money that comes with it so Ohio State could potentially host a home game in an 8 game playoff. College football is not a single entity like most leagues, its basically setup like America before the Civil War with everyone doing their own thing. To get complete agreement on anything is going to take forever, we've already seen this with the playoff taking years and years to happen

God damnit classy
1) 8 is probably perfect
2) Conference Championship games basically half the field, P5 auto bids. 2 best non-champs is enough.
3) Agree top ranked G5
4) No problem with FCS games, money for FCS, almost like practice reps unless the FCS is from MVFC
4b) However, if there is a 12 game schedule, only 10 of those game count toward the ranking, your two weakest wins don't count. So enjoy those 2 wins against Citadel, Illinois St, or whatever MAC/Sun Belt for the glorified practice.
