Im guessing Hackett on Career achievements....but wasnt Wallace all-ohio last year?? My opinion is that it SHOULD go to a Hillsdale player...but Wallace or Hackett are your other candidates. Neer misses out due to injuries!

Here's to hoping a career award isn't given.....It's the 2010 WCAL MVP, not the 2007-2010 best career award.

Still three weeks left! Way too early to cast votes, but if I had to it would be Badertscher, Wallace, then Neer.

DR doesn't pick Dalton for anything. Last mvp from Dalton was track back when Dalessandro won 2 consecutive high jump titles. Anyone know last time a football mvp came from Dalton. I'm guessing Jackson, if he even got it.

I think Hillsdale's MVP is Zac Fulk. He has
Twice as many TD's as anyone else on the team
And he is a game breaker (his avg per carry) is better
Than Trevor's.

Good argument. I've only seen the Falcons play twice and both games, Badertscher really lit it up, on "O" & "D". That's the main reason I tend to talk him up. Hillsdale has a bunch of outstanding guys that an MVP argument could be made for. It won't happen but I would love to see a Falcon lineman get MVP.

I think even I was smart enough to pick Jess Carmichael as the softball POY multiple times

and, the head coaches choose the WCAL awards, inc. MVP. The DR teams, of course, include Orrville, Woo., Tri etc.

Good Grief.....Mike Plant.....Isn't he the guy who used to write articles in the Sunday paper about what he was doing in 1973 & what the top 10 songs at that time were? Long Live Iron Butterfly...Mike.

WCAL MVP......What about Levi Lincata from Hillsdale & Brandon Bauman from Rittman, both should be in the MVP conversation......DR MVP......How would the DR staff be able to sleep at night if they didn't pick someone from mighty Orrville........those silly Orrville fans think Tim Hiller is NFL material...he is very talented but only a very very very few make the cut.

It doesn't matter this year mompov, we don't have anyone worthy of the MVP of the WCAL anyway.......

I love Pirman, but just becuase he is going division 1 doesn't mean he deserves awards either. How many games has he missed? I know he isn't playing this week. Heckuva player, I am sure the team acolodaes are good enough for him.

Last year Orr was honorable mention all league and area I believe, as well as Howell. Both on division one scholarships this year.

If Bauman plays well these last 3 weeks he deserves consideration for sure.

Pirman will not get it, he isn't playing one if those positions to get it (QB, rb, wr) it doesn't matter if he's going D1, he has been hurt all year too. The DR POY will go to carmichael based on numbers and team performance.

There was a nice article in the paper about the wcal today.

Playoffs have alot to do with who gets the POY from the county...we have several schools that will make it..their best player will win it.

if we voted now its carmichael..

I believe they are talking WCAL player of the year. not all county players, so that takes any Orrville, triway, or wooster players out of the list:)

The DR POY got brought up when Mike Plant posted on the thread, that is why we were talking about it. I think WCAL POY will go to Fulk, or Wallace, with Hacket coming in third

I think he was just clarifying that the WCAL coaches and not the DR pick the WCAL MVP, because someone said the DR never picks a Dalton player for MVP and they don't because it's the WCAL coaches who select WCAL awards.

the 1st post you have had with any merit!!! Nice thoughts on Bauman and Polen...both are definately high on the radar...surprised Poleen wasnt mentioned earler....but he might be reserved to receive the baseball MVP...DR does spread things around sometimes.

OC MVP- Bloody toothbrush????

Can the Bears finally get a win???? Three starters suspended on defense. Three other starters on defense out injured. Offense will be missing one of these kids plus another one or two who come in and out. Never thought this game would be in question but at this point you never know! If anyone can give some details after the game that would be great. I may not make it.

My apologies to Mike Plant the DR. Had not remembered Ms. Carmichael's POY awards in softball.
Was fuzzy on what DR picks and what coaches pick.
Go Bulldogs! Got have the goods to win tonight!

remember when Mike Plant posted this...
The point totals in our WCAL voting were very close, only a few points between 3rd and 6th, with Hillsdale edging Dalton for preseason No. 1.
In the interest of full disclosure, my ballot went: 1: Hillsdale, 2: Norwayne 3: Northwestern 4: Dalton 5. Smithville 6. Waynedale 7. Rittman 8. Chippewa.
Nothing would surprise me, and the non-league has some great matchups as well.

We all were bashing the DR! Looks like they may have nailed this perfectly other than #5-7. I will forever respect Mike Plant if this holds true!
