I thought I heard the exact opposite on ESPN, but I admit I wasn't playing close attention.

But since you've got a link I'll go with yours :)

That would be a nice backfield, as LT will still be effective in this league if used the right way, which would be him coming on the field as the 3rd down back, or in definite passing downs, as he's still good out of the backfield, and still has a nose for the Endzone.

That might be enough(if Number 4 comes back) to put them in the Super Bowl

going from taylor to LT is a big downgrade, not something to put them in the super bowl.

I can't imagine he's going to be more of an asset than Chester Taylor. Taylor was the unsung hero of the Vikings O and a huge loss.

Definatley a downgrade, but we need a back to fill that role.

Oh yes, as a proud Viking's Fan, I'd love to see LT in the backfield, with the loss of Taylor, we Will not have a good 3rd down running back, but who will it be? No offence, both, let's jus say it wasnt the best of there careers 09-10 season. But im sure they will approve. And everyone is disapointed in Favre. I am, greatly. but Hey! everyone makes mistakes. usually not that big tho.... lol

Ehh I'm with a few others. Chester Taylor was a lot better than what he got credit for. He did a lot of the little things and dirty work that Peterson didn't want to do (or couldn't). It'll be interesting to see how LT accepts/adjust to a lesser role

Good destination for LT. But as for Minnesota, Taylor is much more of a weapon than LT is at this stage in his career. This will be a downgrade after losing Taylor to Chicago.

I agree with about everyone here. I dont know why they let Taylor go..he brought alot to the team, and was reliable to go in when peterson if dropping the ball on the turf every other play.

I'm betting LT ends up w/ NYJ, however. He wants to win a SB before he retires and I think w/ the uncertainty of MIN QB situation NYJ has a better shot at a SB than MIN.....

LT's add wouldn't downgrade them a whole lot.

Kind of agree here but LT to the Jets makes NO sense.

The reason I say this is that at this stage of his career he's a 3rd down back and the Jets need someone who can basically share the load 50/50 with Shonn Greene. Letting Thomas Jones walk was kind of a head scratcher.

Greene has already proven to be injury prone (3 injuries last year) and the Jets have a better 3rd down back (if healthy) in Leon Washington. If Greene gets injured again is LT going to be able to handle the load? Doubtful....

One thing I WILL say about the Jets is that they prove a lot of the pundits wrong with the "you can't build a winner through free agency." Seems like if NY wants someone, they get them. They just signed former Brown, Brodney Pool and are expected to make a major play for Darren Sharper.

If Favre returns, Minnesota is the better situation for him.

I hated seeing Chester Taylor leave, but I wouldn't be surprised if his numbers take a hit next season. RBs as they age just aren't as productive.

SO THEY BRING IN LT.

I'm trying to take this as a positive, thinking maybe LT could help mentor Peterson and teach him to hold onto the football. Yet, the Vikings still need another productive back. I don't want Peterson to get more than 20-25 carries a game and I just don't see LT being as productive as Taylor was last year.

So overall, a downgrade for the Vikings RB position.

I believe LT is/was supposed to meet with the Jets today. With the uncertainty of Leon Washington's return I wouldn't be upset if they made a play for LT.

Lt will play a few teams against themselves...make someone overpay...and itll work now with the no cap for this year. this year, even more than most..i could see more players playing other teams. It happens alot..but prolly more without a cap.

LOL @ someone actually beleiving that LT is an upgrade over Chester Taylor.

LOL even more that someone things he'll put a team over the top when a contender just dropped him.

This isn't 2005. LT isn't even as good as his shadow used to be. Not that I don't think this would be a good move for the Vikings, but he is not an upgrade compared to what they had.

LT's been done for awhile in terms of being a #1. I think Chester is the better choice because LT just has too many questions regarding injuries. Still, I think it would be a solid pickup for the Vikings or the Jets.

The age is the least of their worries. It is all about wear and tear. Taylor has never really been "the man" anywhere he's played. He usually got less than 15 carries a game for the Vikings. LT on the other hand has been run to death the past few years and has collected a lot of injuries along the way.

Plus like I mentioned above, my main point about Taylor was that he did a lot of the Vikings dirty work and caught the ball out of the backfield. It will be an adjustment for LT
