The Knicks are just awfully bad, and may not be able to get 2 marquee FA's.

The other teams are either really young teams with a good core of players to build around, or have the ability to sign to High Level FA's.

He won't be going to Oklahoma City if he leaves IMO.

Really the only reason I could see him leaving is to get into a larger market. B/c all things equal his team is already championship caliber in Cleveland... why leave? And that is why I do not see him going to OKC. OKC is small market and a potential champion (but he already has that). I say if he does go, it will be LA, NY, or NJ.

I believe OKC has already said they are not in the sweepstakes for LeBron or Wade..

It's popular belief that they want KD as THE guy and Russel Westbrook dominating the ball..

Supposedly, they want to go after a big like Bosh...

Knicks are in the top 2 for sure in my opinion. 3 months ago maybe not, but when they freed up space to be able to get two stars this summer, that was a huge boost for them.

They may not be able to get two stars... Unless they waive the rights to David Lee, which would be a huge mistake.. (which they're full of)

It looks like they'll be able to get one max guy and another 2nd tier player...

But I think they strike out, and will have to settle for a guy like Joe Johnson and maybe Boozer..

Cleveland may not have any titles, but we do have Lebron James for life and when he gets his, so will Cleveland.

I have believed since the start of the year and more with the Jamison deal, that if Cleveland does not win a championship this year, the chances he leaves are very high.

This is without question the best chance that Cavs will have to win a Championship.

They have all the pieces they possibly need to make a strong run.

If they do not win this year, I believe the chances LeBron leaves are very high.

If he stays (either way) good for him, but he will not have a better chance in Cleveland than this year.

I think it is kind of obvious that the Cavs will at least make the Eastern Conf. Finals. Depending on how they do in the playoffs, I think you could see a coup de tat. Meaning that the fans and Lebron will have both had enough of Mike Brown. Then the Cavs try and increase the odds of Lebron staying by letting him handpick the new coach

Brown is very good, but sometimes the things he does (or doesn't do) makes you scratch your head. He definitely needs an offensive guy wherever he goes. The team moves the ball so well throughout the game but by the end offense turns into 4 guys watching and Lebron chucking a 3.

I also can't help but laugh that he had Z and Shaq on the court the same time. Look I'm not saying Brown is a bad coach, but I know that after every playoff exit there have been whispers about him losing his job.

Nothing he does makes me scratch my head, because I understand why he's doing it.. People want to point blame on him for us losing to Orlando, but he did EVERYTHING he could to try and swing to our favor..

I think the offensive aspect of his game is very underrated. Without LeBron, the ball never stopped moving in those late game situations.. I think it's time to actually put blame on LeBron for going LeIso so much.. No fault to him, as every elite player does it.. Kobe does it, MJ did it, and now LeBron does it.. The difference is, LeBron still looks to pass out of LeIso, but he often times wastes too much clock by pounding the ball at the top of the key.

Also, what was wrong with Shaq and Z on the court at the same time? It absolutely worked against Orlando and the Lakers.. In fact, it worked so much that Stan Van Gundy started to use it with Dwight Howard and Marcin Gortat.

Mike Brown takes the heat when we lose, which is typical with sports fans, but he's not going to lose us any games because of his coaching.

In fact, he's won us plenty of games with his coaching.. His defensive schemes made this team a contender with LeBron before they really should have been. LeBron has had shit for teamamtes until the last 2 seasons, but they made the finals in '07.. Why? Mike Brown knows he has the best player in the game.. Make it a low possession game by playing lock down defense and letting LBJ make the biggest impact of the game.

There is possibly only two coaches I'd trade Mike Brown for right now.

LeIso didn't cost Cleveland the Orlando series.

The lack of finding a defensive solution to Orlando's offense caused the loss (which is the coaches responsibilities).

Prove me wrong.

Also, name coaches who are better? I'll give you Phil , Pops, and Sloan off the bat..

It's hilarious that a head coach with as much success as he has had still gets flack from people.. Hey, we can go back to the Paul Silas and John Lucas eras if you guys prefer that....

Mike Browns coaching is underrated because he has LeBron..

However, I'll take the opinion of Greg Popovich over anybody on this forum.. He said he was really impressed with how great of a coach Brown has become in such a short time under the healm.. He also said he sees a lot of "San Antonio in Cleveland"...

I mean seriously, the rosters have SUCKED in Cleveland until recently, and if it wasn't for Mike Browns defensive philosophies, we wouldn't have been as good as soon as we were. That Detroit series in '07 probably doesn't go our way if we don't lock them up like we did in games 3-6.

Dude has done NOTHING to disappoint. Yet he still does nothing good in a lot of peoples eyes'..

Hell, wasn't Phil Jackson struggling with a Lakers team minus Shaq? Didn't Phil fail to win with a team of Kobe, Shaq, Payton and Malone?

Like I said, you can nitpick every coach, but unless you actually understand the game, you can't appreciate everything... And I know you understand the game Sage, even behind all your bs humor posts..

Wait... who said LeIso cost us the Orlando series?

The only thing that cost us the Orlando series was the fact that our roster didn't match up with theirs..

HENCE the reason for adding Moon, Parker, Shaq, and now Antawn..

There was NO defensive solution. Z and Andy couldn't guard Howard.. Wallace and Andy where struggling with Lewis... Mo had his problems with Alston AND Anthony fucking Johnson..

It was a piss poor match up, and the luck of Cleveland that we drew it.

I mean, you think Mike Brown can defend against all these other teams, but lacks the proper adjustments against Orlando? Like for some reason Orlando just stomps him?

No. We couldn't guard them because we didn't have the personnel to guard them..

This season, for instance..

@Orlando Won 102-93

Orlando shot 45% overall and 22.2% from 3. They also were out rebounded by us 42-37

@Cleveland Won 115-106

Orlando shot 48% (thanks to a hot 2nd quarter) and hit 38% from 3.. Yet we AGAIN out rebounded Orlando..

So far this season? We're up 2-1 on them.. Last season? Lost 1-3.

Our one loss to them this season was a game we could have and probably should have won again...

Main difference? Our roster was overhauled and they lost their best playmaker in Hedo..

Mismatch = no more.

Yeah I know, but sadly, the counter is Phil had MJ, Shaq, Kobe, etc..

Pops had Duncan, Robinson, Manu, Parker

Pat Riley.. ha.. He's had A LOT..

Red? Come on.

Sloan? He had a nice run with Malone and Stockton, but never can get over the hump.. Though, he's had what, like 1 losing season in 22 years? I know it's something absurd like that.

Yeah, what did Phil ever do without one of the greatest player in NBA history? Jack shit. No one doubts he's a great coach.

I'd say there is no reason that people should be giving Brown props--a lot of you do realize that he's accomplished a lot of things that very few or even none have accomplished at his age.

Those 3

Rick Carlisle
Paul Westphal
Rick Adelman
Stan Van Gundy
Larry Brown
Scott Skiles

I'd even put D'Antoni and George Karl on that list too, but that's highly debateable.

-------

Mike Brown is nice on the defensive end... But you've got to be able to score points.

He seems to draw his rotations out of a hat and his inability to create imaginative offensive plays down the stretch of games will become a huge liability in the playoffs (and already has).

He was a big reason you guys lost to Orlando and will be the primary reason you guys don't win a championship this year.

You do have to score points, but all you have to do is outscore your opponent.

The Cavs currently rank 8th in PPG and 1st in differential. So......

Over the regular season.

Seen them this year during crunch time? Turns into the Lakers in 2005. Everybody standing around watching Kobe (LeBron) try to make something magical happen.

Coaches are the most underrated factor in the playoffs. Trust me. Mike Brown will cost his team a game or two in the playoffs. Will it cost the Cavs? Maybe.
