Big win for Cincy's chances. They have to win tomorrow and probably have to get to the Final to make the dance.

West Virginia is a very favorable match-up for Cincinnati IMO. Of the top 4 seeds, WVU is the team they have the best chance of beating. If the Bearcats can dominate the boards like they did tonight against Louisville (will be MUCH TOUGHER against WVU), they survive until Friday.

Yea, the Big East is all about match-ups. I can't see ND beating Nova or Cuse, but they beat the reg and tourn champ Louisville by 33 last year. The Irish lose at Rutgers, but beat WVU. All about matchups

The committee has shown they will reward runs in the Big East tournament, I wouldn't be surprised if Cincinnati is in if they win tomorrow. Not sure who their run would knock out, maybe a second Pac-10 team or something.

Its so tough. I think every team in the country should have a chance for a spot in the Big Dance...which is what I think makes conference tourney time so amazing. So i love having all 16 teams in. But dont see the big deal in having to play 4 games to win it.

I really am liking the format. All 16 teams have a chance to make the Big Dance, no matter how poor they were during the regular season, but if they were mediocre to poor, they REALLY have to earn their way in.

Syracuse defense is abysmal right now. Georgetown has to be shooting about 80% now from inside the arc.

Would losing to the Hoyas today have any effect on Syracuse's status as a top seed? Their overall body of work is definitely #1 material, but losing two straight (Louisville in regular season and Georgetown in conference tournament) right before the NCAA could mean something.

I was thinking about that too and I think they would still be in line for a number 1 seed. The same thing happened with Connecticut the year McNamara and Syracuse made their run, UConn got bounced in their first game but because they had already been so highly rated they still kept a number one seed. I think them, Kentucky, and Kansas have solidified themselves as 1's no matter what happens in these tournaments, more than likely.

I Do think if certain teams win their conference tourneys Syracuse could slip to a #2 seed. (Ohio State or Duke)

Good win for the Hoyas. With Marquette vs. the slumping 'Nova being the other QF in that half of the bracket, they could be in good position to at least make the finals and elevate their seed a decent amount.

The problem is their two top go to guys would be Rautins who is more spot up than create and Johnson who isnt a guard, thus not the best handles. GT is a total enigma. Could lose to anyone on any given game, could play with anyone.
The 'Cuse can't be feeling good about going into the NCAA with 2 losses.
As I have been saying...this NCAA is wide open this year.

As for your first paragraph, I think that causes some serious problems for Syracuse. Every team that has won the championship as of late, has had a great point guard who can run the show in the last few minutes. Syracuse, it appears, doesn't seem to have one.

I HATE losing to G'town anytime but the bigger picture is the NCAA tourney. Onuaku's health is my only concern right now. I think a #1 seed is locked up for Syracuse. I've seen them win 3 Big East tourney titles. I've only seen them win 1 national title. I can honestly say that I'm not that disappointed about this conference tourney loss because I want the grand prize. I'm just worried about Arinze right now.
Also, 2 straight losses could be quite the wake up call heading into the NCAA's as well. Two ways to look at it.

Jardine isn't "great," but he's pretty damn good. Arinze health is HUGE for the Cuse, If he can't go they could be like Cincy when Martin broke his leg in 01.
