Good idea.
Also, I know we have some mods that like to go over there and flame out, although, I think it has been a while. We need that to stop.

Yeah, Trueblue, I know you haven't done it in a while but please do not do anything over at jjhuddle now.

I added the disclaimer in the footer as well so it is present on all pages of the site.

I changed the title. Technically they aren't suing me yet.

I still think this just a scare tactic, but you definitely need to cover your ass.

I talked with my lawyer friend and his friendly advice, since he isn't certified to practice in Ohio, is to just change the domain name.

I would say to do that to keep any trouble that though may not have a leg to stand on will cost you at least time and money to perhaps prove. I would say do that as soon as possible.

maybe www.notjjhuddle.com would shut them up?

You should write them back and point out other websites using huddle as part of their domain name.

Alright, so now I need to come up with a new "brand" for the website. Do I keep it Ohio High school themed and come up with a name that incorporates that or do I move the name and site more towards a general forum?

I think I would prefer to move it towards a general discussion site (still keep the high school boards for those that use them) and maybe try to pick up more users outside of Ohio.

Well I think the forums are already labeled properly. The are not called Ohio Wrestling, Ohio Football, its just wrestling, football, etc...... I think just a site name change would suffice. What about something simple like freeboards.com, freemessageboards.com, buckfucknuts.com (LOL), gaygayrubble.com (LOL)!

I agree with keeping it a general discussion board..I mean..it's not like the HS boards are the most popular forums used on this site or anything.

I own a domain that a buddy and I are working on together. It is still in its infancy so it might be easiest to just make this forum a part of it.

That won't work either..it has 'http://www.', the letter 'j', and '.com' in it. That's way too similar to the address of the other place. They'll probably still sue you for that one.justincredible wrote: I own a domain that a buddy and I are working on together. Will there be a way that when people try to go to freehuddle.com they will automatically be directed to the new site address?

Yes, as long as they don't try and make me give up ownership of the domain.GoChiefs wrote: Will there be a way that when people try to go to freehuddle.com they will automatically be directed to the new site address?
