He has no basis? This is the 2nd time in how long this has happened? That's all the 'basis' Goodell needs.
He has not been charged with anything. Cant you get that through your thick skull. I dont want to label you as a dickhead but?????

These charges have brought negative attention and embarrassment to the league. That's ALL he needs.

I laughed my ass off when Tomlin, at the owners meetings, said his team was "above and beyond our peers." That's rich.
Dont get on here in put down Ben and Tomlin because the Steelers own your beloved Clowns. And before you put up your 13-6 monogram, lets look at the last 10 years. hahaha.

He doesn't HAVE to be charged with anything. If Goodell wants to suspend him for embarrassing the league and repeatedly putting himself in stupid situations to embarrass the league that's his right. Does it necessarily make it "fair" or "right?" No, but he CAN do it if he wants.

Suspend him now. Big Al can be his cheerleader and get him a job in the CFL.

If he is suspended without any charges being filed that would be absolutely ridiculous. Others have actually been charged with crimes with no suspension.

IF Goodell does take action he needs to step it up throughout the league.

Well at least Ben didn't kill no one like your boy Stallworth or was selling drugs to little kids like your boy Lewis.

Yeah, because guys like "Love Boat" Mewelde Moore, Jeff Reed, Santonio "Tokin" Holmes, (former player) Najeh "Dookie" Davenport, (former player) Cedrick "Wifebeater" Wilson, James "Wifebeater Part 2" Harrison, etc are ALL "above and beyond our peers."

The "pristine" Steeler reputation is all a bunch of fucking "fluff" that the Rooney's try to sweep under the carpet. Like I posted in that link earlier, there's a HUGE double standard in that organization. I'd love to see all the shit that goes on behind closed doors that never reaches the public eye.

Must be hard to be this jealous of an organization. Must be tough to be a fan of the most embarrassing franchise in the nfl.

This is where the "fluff" comes to bite them in the ass. Whether charged or not isn't the issue either. How about getting that through your skull? Appearance of inpropriety IS the issue, and along with "appearance" is the "race" issue. You can't continue to stick it to the brothers when clearly Ben's actions have been "detrimental to the league" and slap him on the wrist and not have it "appear" as a double standard.

Give me a break

Has there ever been attention on Cleveland, other than waiting for the next train wreck.

I love the morality police preaching "pattern" of behavior...

What pattern?!?
1) Riding a motorcycle without a helmet, WHICH WAS LEGAL, and getting hit by a car?

2) Being accused IN CIVIL COURT of rape, which any nutcase could go after anyone. A case which appears completely bogus from the start.

3) Being accused of some sort of sexual assault, but not yet charged? What if there's nothing to this? GBI already withdrew their request for DNA.

In my view, the last incident is the first and only issue here. No charges should equal no suspension. Now, foreplay in a public restroom and drinking with a 20-yr old I think could fall under conduct and possibly warrant 1-2 games.

Really you can't act on accusations that are unsupported by actual evidence and witnesses, because any player could be targeted with that. In at least 1 of these instances, Roethlisberger is a victim but people are trying to make it out as contributing to justification for suspension.

That's pretty rich you having the nerve to call ANYONE a dickhead. LOL As for what I said..doesn't matter if he's been charged or not. Still gives the league a black eye. How fucking hard is that to understand? Why can't you get that through your thick skull? HE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE CHARGED FOR GOODELL TO SUSPEND HIM.

No, you're the one who is thick as a brick, dumbass. NO CHARGES HAVE TO BE FILED FOR GOODELL TO SUSPEND HIM. If Goodell wants to walk up to him and shit in his coffee, Ben's response should be "thank you sir, may I have another." Roethlisberger is at Goodell's mercy right now.

Good post Gut. The DA's office has just dropped the request for Bens DNA. So I guess the only thing Ben will be raping is the Clowns defense.

This is really the only thing Goodell could really go after him for without a players union grievance going through IMO.
