This is basically a thread for us to praise Evan Turner and to reflect on his time at OSU. He is so good it makes my head hurt to watch. He's one of those players that you look at and he doesn't look much like a basketball player and he doesn't necessarily play with a ton of flair, so it doesn't always seem like he's done much until you look at the box score and see his line of 20, 8, and 6. He's simply ridiculous.

So, is he a slam dunk for player of the year in college basketball?

Yes, I attended 6 games this year and every time I watch Turner he just makes it look so effortless. He is a special player!

Yes. Right after the game on Sportscenter they went through all the experts and every single one had ET as POY. It'll be near unanimous.

ESPECIALLY since there is no one even close to being POY out west. Sometimes you get the west coast guys and east coast guys fighting over who itll be. But this year, everyone is looking at the same region, and ET dominated that region.

I also think Wall will be a better pro but that Turner is hands down the best player in college basketball right now.

ET will possibly be a top 5 pick and his game should translate well to the NBA.

He'll be CPOY and sure fire early exit into the NBA Draft.

Turner is all but a done deal for POY. He is quickly turning into my favorite Buckeye ever. Not only is he great but he is one of the most unselfish guys I've seen with his amount of talent. Also, nothing I'd love more than to see Turner on next years team. But he'd be stupid to stay.

Bucks can win it all this year...provided they don't run into a whiastle happy ref crew. And if they win the Big 10 tourney combined with a couple more upsets, could find themselves as a number one seed.

It's been a great year to be a Buckeye fan.

I hope OSU doesn't win the Big Ten tourney.

They have NO benc, and they would need to win three games in three days to win the tourney title. I hope they win their first game and lose their second. That'll likely get them a 2 or 3 seed. I'm not sure they can survive 5 games in 9 days with just 5 players.

Considering 1 of those games would be against either Michigan or Iowa, and the other a 15 or 16 seed, I would hope they could survive those 5 games in 9 days.

I agree with krambman....I think an early exit would only benefit this team, rest their legs, and have them ready for a great run in the tournament. Irregardless of who you're playing, how bad the first opponent is, and how average the second opponent is, those are still valuable minutes on the legs and although some of the wins over the lower tier teams have looked easy, the Buckeyes' top 5 are still out there busting their tails. Of course it would be great to win a Big 10 tourney title, but I have to admit that I won't be real upset if they get bounced in the 2nd round.

I'm torn on them winning the Big 10 tournament. I look at it that they will have 9 days off before they play again. If they win one (which everyone wants them do to) they are going to have to play at least two. The one extra game is not going to make that much of a difference. The more they win, the higher the seed, the (should be) easier the path. I say win and take your chances.

If they win the Big 10 tournament they have a chance at a 1 seed right? I think that is more beneficial than a couple days rest and playing two better teams in the first two rounds of the NCAA.

Exactly.

You get a 1 seed, and your first two games are basically day offs.

Also, it's not like a team's never won 3 games in 3 days then gone deep in the tourney...even with a short bench, these guys don't need days off when they're probably so stoked to get the tourney started, adrenaline will take over, they're not 45.

Or they can lose in the second round of the Big Ten Tourney, get a 2 seed, and play a 15 and a 7 instead of a 16 and an 8. Not much of a difference. I'll take the extra day of rest and winning by 22 and 12 over winning the Big Ten and winning by 25 and 15. I think we're more likely to be upset the first weekend on tired legs player a lesser team, than on rested legs against a better team.

The bench has scored on 6 points over the past 5 games and have played only 80 minutes combined over those 5 games, and until the final minute of the game last night Diebler hadn't seen the bench in five games. Trust me, it's better for these guys to get an extra day of rest than to get one seed higher.

No team should ever want to lose! Winning builds chemistry and thats the last thing you don't want to have heading into the big dance.

Turner HANDS DOWN POY, no question. Will be a landslide. I have said since day 1 he was the best.

As for this hoping OSU loses in Big Ten Tourney so it helps them in NCAA? How many of you are going to root against them next week?

They have 9 freaking days off.....plenty of time to rest up for Big Ten, and NCAA. Many of you were saying they wouldn't make it this far, 31 games, with only playing 6 guys....well guess what, they did. Matta has MANAGED this team perfectly to this point. I'll side with him how he goes about it the rest of the way.
Three Big Ten titles the last 5 years.

why would anyone ever hope your team doesnt win a championship? Thats what you freaking play for!!!!

I could see thinking after the fact "this is probably not awful"...but to actually HOPE they lose and dont win a championship is bizarre to me.
