kind of spin off from the most boring drives thread...
what are the most interesting areas to drive though? (anywhere)
One of my favorite spots is I-75 in Tennessee just south of the Kentucky border where you are up on a ridge and can see the awesome views on both sides. Also kind of funny seeing an exit for "Stinking Creek Rd" near that spot
also, I-26 from Johnson City, TN through the mountains to Asheville, NC is pretty scenic. I-77 from Charleston, WV down into NC is a nice drive as well. Also, it's been awhile since I was there, but I remember I-8 through the mountains in southern California between the Arizona border and San Diego was pretty cool as well. At one point the 2 separate halves of the interstate split apart and there was literally a mountain in the median, and there was another spot where the 2 halves crossed over due to the topography and for a while you were on the left hand side of the other lanes going the opposite way
