I can't believe how fast she is growing up. In honor of her birthday I am cooking her three favorite things.

Pulled Pork rubbed and ready for the cooker

The Cooker, the best purchase I've made in a long time.

Black eye peas

boiled peanuts

I love cooking and I am very partial to BBQ and so is Jack, my husky

Jack has a reputation for stealing food that has alot of time and effort put into it. What a great Sunday, celebrating my daughters b-day, slow smoked bbq with all the fixins', and Nascar!!

Very nice post! Happy birthday to your daughter. We have a boxer named Cooper who steals his sister's food all the time. His sister is a Pug named Abby and Abby's mom keeps leaving dog food on the floor. My Boxer just waits until Abby is either done or walks away because she doesn't like the food, and Cooper scarfs it all down in a matter of seconds. My wife goes nuts every time. I keep telling her not to leave it on the floor but somehow it usually ends up my fault that Abby has her food stolen. It's just the way my wife rolls.

Yes she does, she loves ice cream cones with green olives in the bottom of the cone topped with the ice cream. On the other hand you have to fight with her with things we think are normal fare.

Not at all like regular peas. They have the texture of baked beans and the flavor comes from the type of seasonings you put in them. They are very plain if you don't season them, but as all dried beans they are cheap and not difficult to bring out a good flavor when prepared correctly.

You gotta put some Chow-Chow on them black eyed peas. That's what they do to them in the south. I have never had them any other way. That pork butt looks very good.

I live in the south and never seen the chow -chow thing, but it sounds good though.

My grandmother grew uo in west Texas. We put chow chow in nearly everything she made her own brand.

As the father of three eleven year old girls...good luck.

I think I will be smoking a butt next weekend. Looks good.

Tell the little one happy birthday.

My youngest is turning 13 this year. Time flies.

Good luck to you in a few years fending off those slimebag young men with only one thing on their mind. I have a 17yr old daughter. Expect to spend a lot of time clueing them in on the motives of teenage boys.
