What was deleted that didn't CLEARLY break the rules?

Who was "gotten rid of" who didn't CLEARLY break the rules?

I think it has to eventually mature into something like the Huddle, simply because people have too much of a hard time with as much freedom as this site would like to allow. It's good in theory, but in reality, it will never work.

I still see a lot of freedom, though. What, 2, maybe 3 posters have been banned? For obvious rule violations? That are pretty black and white?

That's not so bad, IMO. It's simply a matter of what people can/can't handle. Freedom is nice, but not at the expense of common sense.

Hmmm...

Can you swear over there?
Can you openly criticize the site and owner/mods over there?
Can you have full access for zero dollars over there?

You say the rules are a good thing yet you criticize us for giving temporary (meaning they'll be back in a week, there was no "getting rid" of) bans to people (2 so far, to be exact) who broke them?

But I agree, this place does suck and it won't be long until the dickweed owner starts charging people to post.

Well, yeah, you. You're a special case, though, being a gigantic pain in the ass and all.

This, to an extent.

It's going to get damn close. People are just too stupid to allow for anything else.

Where this site can stand out is with the moderation... you can tighten it up without being the gestapo. Now, in my opinion two mods have become a little trigger happy after Justin's latest decree (and not LJ, he needs to have an iron fist to keep that politics clusterfuck in control), but I think they will come around in a few days.

Is contacting the state AG being a "gigantic pain in the ass"?

I was not being critical I was saying just what I said, and that is that it is funny.

I did not say anyone did or did not deserve what they got.

september63,
I should not waste my time in saying this but never mind.

I agree.

It was discussed in the mod forum after the latest banning (I was away from my computer all night until around 11 or so) that all bans must go through me first.

It was actually how they extended an offer to me then banned me for asking about it.

Like the song says ;) If you can't please everyone, you might as well please yourself. I know that's not the lyrics, but I thought JJ, excuse me, JC would appreciate it.

It'd be hard to say this site is nothing like that one considering that the vast majority of the posters here were (and are, in some cases) from there. We're a free site (unlike JJhuddle, where you get a few free boards and have to pay for everything else). We're less tight-assed about rules and discipline and will let you know about things we do.

Such as:

1. The "more rules" thing was necessary. Too many people were going overboard with personal attacks.

2. Which makes deleting posts a necessity. If you're cracking down on personal attacks, it wouldn't do to let them stand, would it? Now, obviously this doesn't count examples of people bumping their threads and deleting their own posts...for whatever reason they have behind bumping a dormant thread right after their brother got a temporary ban for going psycho on the spin-off of said dormant thread isn't for me to make assumptions about.

3. Getting rid of posters... I'd say that if a poster referred to an admitted homosexual with "fairwood" in his handle as "fairywood" (as just one gay slur made by him), made stalking/creepy comments about how another poster he was arguing with was from a broken home which he "knew" due to IP tracing and stuff AND on a different thread, commenting that the holocaust didn't happen (in an obvious "for shock value" way), that person needs a vacation. I don't know why anyone would have objections to that.

Well, probably not at all. But, I wasn't really going for originality points, or any agreement points. I was just stating an opinion. It's clearly not my site, just an observation. The less rules there are, the more people will take advantage, and the more lines will be crossed.
