I spent some time in Wellington and Aukland a few years ago and I loved it. You will, too. Be sure to go to the Te Papa Museum in Welllington.

Damn, I want to move to New Zealand now.

If my current career plan works out I'll be able to work from anywhere in the world, I'll have to add it to my list of possibilities. :)

I have never been to New Zealand, but based on the LOTR movies, it looks beautiful. Watch out for hobbits though. There's small, hard to spot, and often drunk.
