I just watched the Genoa first round playoff game last night and was very impressed with them. They can hit you in so many ways and their defense swarms to the ball all the time.

I am going on a hunch that they win this one by 20 or more.

There are a lot of people other than Orrville fans who have said it will be a good game. Orrville will score on Genoa but will have trouble stopping that relentless offense. Genoa 35 - 21.

Genoa practices on field turf in Perrysburg today. Not sure if they will be tomorrow as well. The fake stuff is a little different than real grass so any practice on it is good before gametime.

I think there will be some surprised at how well this Rider team will play. They will give themselves a chance to win this game. If it's close at the end I wouldn't bet against them. This will be by far the best team Genoa has seen this year.

I don't think anyone should be surprised by how ANY team plays right now. This is Week 12. You get there for a reason.

Have to support the local team and pick Genoa in this one, but two things that I think Genoa needs to be careful with. One, over-confidence. Any team can be beat at any time by any opponent. Think we've all seen this happen before. Two, how will they respond when they finally do find themselves in a situation where they are either tied or trailing in the 4th quarter and the pressure is truly on? I know that situation hasn't happened yet, but chances are that it will sooner or later before this season ends.

I just looked at the old site and on the North forum there are threads on the first page that haven't been posted on since 11am. Good work jjhuddle, you guys just killed your own site. People aren't going to pay every month for something they can get for free. Now if only more people could find out about this site...

I'm guessing Genoa by 21 which is 21 points closer than any other team this year.

gcg??

Someone else talked about how Genoa will react when they're in a tight game...and from what I've heard and read, I don't think they'll handle it well.

Hope there's a good ref crew assigned to this one...could get chippy.

I think this will be a very good game, I know as a fan the third and fourth quarter have been pretty boring this year. I think that if we are in a close game the kids will respond and rise up because that is how they have been coached. I do know they will bring their A game and give Orrville one heck of a game.

Good Luck Comets bring home a Win

P.s.

I heard the rv's are leaving Genoa at 10 so we should be there around noon'ish.

On what grounds will they not handle it well? You make it sound like Genoa gets dirty in close games? I would like to hear your reasoning.

^^^^^ Yes I too would like to know where you get that reasoning.
They have had tight games over the past 3 years other than the 3 losses they have. The leadership of this team has these boys ready to face giants if need be. I doubt you'll see any quit in these dogs if things get tough.

Game films I've watched, people I've talked to and totally neutral parties....all say the Comets can be a little over-aggressive at times.

Didn't Dufendock get a penalty last week that might have gotten him ejected if it wasn't the playoffs?

And I dont think it takes a close game for them to get dirty...sounds like they had some issues with controlling their emotions during 50 point blowouts.

A 15 yd penalty is no big deal if you're up by a ton...but in a close game, could mean the difference between winning and losing.

^^^^^You may be right, but I'd take 11 guys that play whistle to whistle like Hines Ward in this game every day of the week.

Me too...but Hines Ward is considered the "dirtiest" playing in the NFL based on a poll of his peers...the lack of a denial tells me I'm not far off. At least you're honest.

Possible bulletin board material for Genoa???

IMO Bad move on Orrville's Coach's part. You say that kind of thing "They havent played anybody" "They havent seen what we've got..." to your team behind closed doors; not to the paper

I agree...i like the attitude, but in the locker room...not in the paper.

Now you'll have egg on your face if they come out and whoop us.

There's confidence that it is a game we can win...and that our schedule has prepared us, but Genoa seems to play the game in another gear...I hope we're ready to match that for 4 quarters.

I'd think a screen pass or two might slow down that rush that Genoa seems to have on every play.
