Dean Wormer.....Tricks up his sleeve wasn't intended to mean trick plays my friend. I meant that Coach Brungard knows a thing or two about winning football games judging by his resume and body of work as a player under Tressel. I'm sure he and his fellow coaches will have a solid game plan. But if you want to discuss trick plays, i'm all for it

Poland already has gone to the well once for trick plays and it worked brilliantly against ASVSM. To be honest with you, a team as good as Mooney, the only way to beat them might be to catch them off guard with an occassional trick play. They play so aggressively that Poland may be able to catch them out of position, over-pursuing, or missing a coverage assignment regarding Poland's bag of tricks. Obviously the same strategy worked for Boise State a few years ago when they took down a superior Oklahoma team. If Brungard can sell his players on the game plan and the fact that they can execute those plays successfully (like Boise did), then the battle is not half over. Whatever it takes to win will be done. Unfortunately, it takes no rocket scientist to figure out that Poland can not line up with Mooney and beat them head-to-head. Mooney is bigger, stronger, and faster. But sometimes the game of football relies more on execution. If the Dogs can execute those plays then i'm fully supportive of them. I don't know about you, but sometimes i'd rather be lucky than good haha.
