The offense he runs is just like the west coast offense, the wishbone etc they are gimmics and gimmics dont last forever. Remember he ran this in the Big East. The west coast offense is one of the most successfull offenses in the history of football and it's tendencies have evolved and are still seen in all level's of football. That's exactly what happens with offensive system's they evolve and expand into different thing's over time. It's what will happen with the spread as time goes on. It will evolve with the game and may someday dissapear as we currently understand it but it's basic principles will be used for long after most people think it's dead.

Some OSU fans on here are acting like Michigan will never win a Big Ten game again. Michigan will return to the top of the Big Ten.

Michigan wouldnt have won 8 games in year one under a traditional Michigan offense or any kind of hybrid between the spread/pro style. The quarterback play would not have allowed it to happen because Mallet was as good as gone the second Rich was named coach.Basically Rich had a choice blow it up completely or prolong the agony by running some form of hybrid for a year or two and then switch only to expierence the same damn growing pains.

First off Boom Herron was a redshirt freshman not a true freshman so that makes it 3 true freshman starting. These kid's also had a luxary that the kids in michigan didnt have. That is outstanding upperclassmen talent to help them and to minimize what they needed to do

Really, I don't understand how some people think that IF Michigan gets better that it will all of a sudden be the downfall of Ohio State. It won't be.

All I can say is that Tressel has an 8-1 record and 6 straight victories as evidence that Michigan beating Ohio State regularly isn't going to happen under his watch.

I tend to look at the overall picture more than most. I'm not one to look at how many 4* recruits you have and say you're going to kick ass based on that, or that that alone is going to save RR job. There is a bigger picture in front of you that you will not answer, and I've asked a couple times.

Michigan has not defeated Ohio State at home or in Columbus in 6 years, and only once in the last 9. At what point does the Michigan brass give up on this little experiment into the run & shoot, spread read, triple option cluster fuck abortion offense RR is attempting to force on arguably the most storied program in the history of collgiate athletics? It's just too damn embarassing for them to continue much past this season. They won't continue to be the punch line. They are ready to distance themselves from the darkest Saturday in UM history only known as Appy State, followed behind by a close second in Toledo.

Yes, as long as Indiana is still apart of the Big 10. They'll sneak by Northwestern and Illinois every once in awhile too.
