My mom is my facebook friend. She's deleted me twice now because my posts have "offended her." She always comes crawling back though.... :)

If they are that old, friend away. What are they afraid of?

My parents are electronically inept, so they aren't on Facebook. I'm friends w/ my siblings, aunts, cousins, and my niece. I have nothing to hide, except maybe a blackout drunk ridiculous status every now and again! :D

I'm 26, have my dad on there. I definitely have nothing to hide. I mean, the extent of my craziness (at least that can be picked up on FB) is that I'll curse in a stuatus from time to time.

Agree! You may find them tagged in a album somewhere they don't need to be or acting a way you never imagine they would.

Don't know. They aren't party animals or anything so I guess they just see me as an old fogey. They're probably right.lol It doesn't bother me because I trust them a lot.

I'll message the poem to you guys, ideally before the weekend is out. I think Jtownclassics wanted to read it as well.

I'm friends with my mom(dad doesn't have one and mom doesn't really check it), both my older sisters, all my moms siblings, cousins, etc, etc. I get goofy comments from them time to time.

Honestly, nothing on my facebook is really THAT bad and my family in general know I'm not much of a saint. However, my young young cousins have started adding me, so I've cleaned it up for their sake. I do get to monitor their facebook for creepers. :)

Naw, if they've accepted your being a lawyer... ;)
Heh. The whole "no longer med school, but law school" conversation was an interesting one.

I am friends with pretty much my whole family. it made it easier to stay in touch when i was deployed so they could keep in contact with me. for the most part they keep the comments and stuff to a minimum so it doesnt bother me. your kids seem old enough they should be able to deal with it. haha unless you are the type who will be commenting on every status and picture they have. then i can see why they might not want you as a friend.

It's tough to be yourself when your parents are on Facebook too.

They like to embarrass you too any chance they get.

My daughter lives in AZ so we are friends on FB. It's a nice way to stay in touch with her and to see how her life is going. She calls me to see if I've read her FB comments! She's 29 and the youngest is 25. It's fun and yes, if I can crack them up I will! :)

Yeah, I mean, my dad rarely comments on my stuff, but when he does, it's hilarious. I can count on something ridiculous from him once a month or so.

I have all three of my kids as friends on facebook. My daughter is 24 married and has a child -- so, even tho she's only 20 minutes away, it's gramma heaven! sharing pictures, etc. The boys are 17 and 18 -- one lives with his sister and the older one is away at College, so facebook lets us keep in touch easily. The youngest one "defriends" me occassionally for being too nosy or for making comments -- like "get off facebook and do your homework!" But so far he has always added me again after a few days. I have been able to see some of his "conversations" with new friends/teammates. These reassure me that he really is turning into a fine young man and not an idiot teenager. The one in college... well, sometimes, I just have to staple my typing fingers to the floor (keep my mouth shut). He's in college... he's supposed to be doing that stuff. And he knows not to post any horrible pictures or comments because his mother is watching.

And what really cracks me up is how many of my son's friends have sent me a friend request and how many of their parents I have friended. How odd. But its great. All the boys post their personal sports results, so I know how they're doing without have to search for results. I also get to know their families better than I would have otherwise. Facebook... it's been fun for me so far.

My dad is my Facebook buddy. He also follows my Twitter (which I haven't updated since like August).

My mom doesn't have it or it'd be the same story with her. We're all pretty open books.
