Done deal, Rooney rule aside.

Situations like this make the Rooney rule look more and more like what it is...stupid. What's the incentive to go interview for the position, a trip out and dinner at Chi Chi's?

USC's ship is sinking fast, first Mayo now it's all coming to a head w/Bush et al.

I just seen across the bottom of espn, USC will go after Oregon State coach MIke Riley. I think thats a good one for them. He's went far and beyond with the talent he has there.

I was just going to post that I thought USC could do better than Mike Riley. I have never thought much about him. I mean, he's okay, but USC is USC.

In two to three years from now, will USC be a powerhouse still?

If they don't have Carroll and they have Mike Riley. Then no I do not see them being a powerhouse.

Just seen a report that said some recruits have been trying to call the coaches but none of them are answering.

Talk about an earthquake across college football- this affects recruits big-time, not to mention another big shift of coaches.

Imagine if Urban Meyer doesn't coach next year (I think he will)- that's 2 of the top coaches
(if not the top 2) gone for 2010.

Jeff Fisher and Jack del Rio are names popping up as possible replacements for Carroll.

haha. It would make my day if Del Rio gets the USC job. He has to be one of the worst head coaches in the NFL

Peter King just said on the Playoff Pregame show that Del Rio could be fired by the Jaguars... but USC has no interest in him

Fuck is wrong with some Chi Chi's?

Anyways, I think it's a good rule. College football should use something similar. How many black head coaches are there in major college football now? You can count them on one hand. At least things are better (proportionately) in the pro's.

Lol, Chi Chi's sucks dude!

I don't mind the Rooney rule when applied correctly. However, when you have the situation we do now, "Pete Carrol is the next coach of the Seattle Seahacks" and then followed by "well we have to satisfy the Rooney rule requirements, first but..." then it looks stupid. The cart doesn't belong in front of the horse. That's my point.

I'm not a big proponent of entitlement of any kind, I understand the idea of the rule but feel any applicants consideration should be based on merit not skin color or any other pre-qualifying factor.

Understood. I see where you're coming from now and you make a good point.

Except about Chi Chi's. Don't you ever say another bad word about Chi Chi's in your life. Ever again. :@

Rooney rule is so stupid. Do teams have to interview white candidates before they hire minorities?

This is why no one respects black people, because they only get anywhere based on race, at least people will always think that.
