Just started watching Californication on my flights to NC yesterday. It's pretty good so far. Not sure if anyone watched it back in the day.

Narcos season 3 comes out tomorrow, very interested to see where it goes.

If you plan on watching both, look online on the "when to watch" as starting around season 8 of SG1 the two shows overlap and have some cross overs.

I started watching Stargate SGU, got through half of the first season and so far just can't finish it. Not nearly as good, its like soap opera with a sci fi theme.

Watched The Flash, all of the seasons just recently. Not bad at all.

Watching Supergirl now (I know...just bored) and so far it's not bad either, if you can get over the fact that she is basically Superman with female emotions.

Probably will watch Arrow next...I know those 3 (Arrow, Flash, Supergirl) have many cross overs and should be watched in some sort of order too, I just didn't care about them that much to do it.

I probably will go back to Stargate SGU next though, just to have the Stargate saga complete (watched all 3 movies too, the last 2 were straight to DVD and are to be watched after season 10 of SG1).

I am always watching Marvels Agents of Shield, may eventually watch Luke Cage, Defenders, Jessica Jones, etc.

Another good series, at least for the first couple seasons, was The 100.
What if, when you watched the movie Stargate, you thought it was a cure for amnesia, since the first hour or so was sooooo damn slow? Is the show faster paced because it's in one-hour slots instead of big blockbuster time length? Because I thought the movie had potential, it just needed a good 30 or so minutes cut so it didn't take forever for the characters to get anywhere. At least it felt that way -- it has been a good 18-19 years since I've seen it, so memory might be leading to mild exaggeration.

You are correct, the original movie had to spend a good 30 minutes explaining the backstory of the gate and how Daniel figured the gate address out.

The series goes much faster pace, each episode is only 40 minutes (1 hr with commercials). The first few episodes somewhat have to "bridge" from the movie to the show since a few characters from the movie are in the show, but with different actors, etc.

The series has more comical relief than the movie too. I mean, it's still a "serious sci fi" but there are some "breaking the 4th wall" moments where the show 'makes fun of itself'.

Also, get used to Jack O'Neill being more 'funny' than hard nosed A-hole, that's the biggest difference in the movie and the series.

It was definitely worth watching if you even liked the concept in the original movie. Think about this, in 10 seasons they probably visit 100s of planets, rather than just 1.

Once you get through the series, the straight to DVD movies based on the series, were faster paced as well.
Stargate:Ark of Truth
Stargate: Continuum

I think that was their names.

Enjoyed all Stargate shows. Watched through Atlantis/SG1 multiple times over the years. SGU wasn't bad but it was cancelled so the show doesn't have any sort of ending which sucks.

It definitely sucked. But I was willing to see where it would go. SG1 was really good, but probably ran several season too long (the Baul reboot and the Ori weren't that interesting).

If you guys like Sci-fy, 12 Monkeys will not disappoint.

As much as I loved SG1, I agree, the Ori arc was too much, series should have ended when the Goa'uld were defeated.

I liked Atlantis as well, the Wraith was interesting for sure.

American Horror Story starts in three days! Last season, Roanoake, was definitely a downer for me and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I did the previous seasons. This season is about what appears to be a cult of clowns and ... Trump.
dun! Dunn!! DUNNN!
So I'm hoping this has all the twists and turns that prior seasons had along with some humor!

AHS Cult delivered Aces! And it promises to be engaging enough to make up for last year's debacle.

I always think I'm going to love AHS only to have lost interest by the third episode. I don't think I've ever finished a season. With that said, I'm looking forward to checking out the premier from tonight.

It wasn't over the top? I caught part of one of the previews and remember them giving election results with a woman screaming in fear because Trump was elected.

Always had a crush on Connie Britton so watched the seasons of AHS that she was on last winter. After she left....that show is just really messed up!

Doubt ill continue watching.

Cannot think of any current show I make sure I watch.

Must be getting old.

It was "kinda" over the top, because that is what AHS always does. They push the limits of gore, sex and humor lol!
But yes, a woman screamed because Trump won and a guy humped his tv because Trump won. A great portrayal/analogy of what happened IRL.

I actually loved AHS Roanoke. I thought it was a good twist on the traditional haunted house story, with a modern twist of reality tv in the second half of the season.

My first reaction of Cult is it is trying too hard. Playing to cliches of the right wing conservative guy and the snowflake liberal is way too easy.
The clown angle is interesting. But, I was just laughing at how absurd some parts of it were. The supermarket scene being one example.

I'm interesting to see where it goes, but so far I'm not a fan.

This is almost me to a "T." I don't think I've finished a season, except season 1. I've started every season I believe.

I didn't watch last night, how was it?

I watched a couple episodes of HIMYM last night with my wife while I was doing a fantasy football draft. That show was ... not good.

I think I watched the first season of AHS. It was set in a haunted house. I don't remember much of the specifics, but I remember enjoying it.

The only season of AHS I really loved was the one with the nuns and the insane asylum.

It got a few smirks and/or chuckles from me, but overall I did not enjoy it. I remember liking it when it was originally on, but it just hasn't held up well for me.

Just finished Westworld. Outstanding show. I'd recommend it for anyone who 1) has HBO & 2) likes A.I. stuff.

Just started Band of Brothers this morning.

Ted is terrible. Just horribad. Not as bas as Ross from friends, but his character is loathsome.
