This is an overreaction by everyone involved. NOT SAYING what Kevin Spacey may have done is ok or right, but to end a show that employs 100s of people is a little over the top...IMO.
It needs to end after 6 anyway. Blessing in disguise, as far as the show is concerned.

I don't disagree, just sucks this is the reason.

Came here to say this. Show peaked in S2, S3 was trash, didn't even bother after that. From what I've heard form friends who stuck with it, I made the right choice.

EZ solution, don't employ scumbags.

Yeah I agree with you that it gradually got worse the more Holden turned into a dickface. Not sure why they decided to focus so much on his douchebaggery.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they didn't know Spacey may have committed sexual assault 31 years ago.

Netflix has said that they planned for it to end after 6 before this news. Yeah, ok.

Maybe, hollywood is a small place. Could be wrong, but trying to fuck a 14 yr old is pretty damn extreme. Behavior like that usually isn't a one time thing. Add in that every guy he's been seen with is usually "young" male model, I have a hard time believing it was a one time mistake.

Well, and Spacey LOOKS like your prototypical pedophile

I doubt it's a one-time thing, either. Sexual predators usually have many victims.

So those Meechum scenes didn’t require much acting on Spacey’s part, other than trying to imagine he was 14 yrs old.

Oh, I doubt it's a one-time thing, too. But there's no necessary correlation between it being a one-time thing and it being common knowledge in show biz.

Plus, there's a difference between having a reputation of liking to play hide the pickle with barely legal consenting adults and forcing yourself on an early teen.

I'm not saying I'm surprised or anything. Just that they probably didn't know about it.

Rosie O'Donnell claimed no one had evidence, but everyone KNEW.

I'm not going to make this political, but suffice to say Hollywood might be just about the most hypocritical, deplorable group out there.

Color me not fully ready to believe just anything that comes out of her mouth.

When the accusations like this happen, it seems really easy to throw out due process and all that.

Based on what he actually said, it doesn't sound like a confession as much as it sound like an admission that it's possible, but that he doesn't remember anything like that happening. It certainly seems to indicate that he's an asshole, but that's not really an admission of guilt unless he said something else of which I'm unaware.

I really don't care about him one way or the other, but it seems a bit hasty to burn him at the stake already, does it not?

And while I certainly don't inherently disagree with your assessment of Hollywood, it doesn't mean they necessarily knew. Hell, maybe they WOULD have covered it up if they'd known, but we can't just automatically assume it without any reason sans our own misgivings about the ethical composition of the average Hollywood celebrity.

I am in the minority but I really enjoyed the Conway battle in Season 4/5. Season 3 was a let down after how great 1 and 2 were but I thought once Conway was introduced in Season 4 as the GOP front runner, it got good again. Never got fully back to the brilliance of Season 1 and 2 but still well above average television and I enjoyed it. Looking forward to Season 6 and there are many ways to finish the series that would be good ideas.

As for Spacey, I'll reserve judgement but certainly not going to lose sleep over something that may or may not have happened in the 1980's. I totally understand Netflix needing to come out and act swiftly. In today's climate, if they didn't distance themselves from this immediately, you would have people cancelling their subscriptions by the 1000's.

I see the show as very human. This is all loosely based on real life stuff, too, isn't it?

It's basically the beginnings of how the FBI profiles serial killers.

My wife started watching Haters Back Off this weekend. I sorta watched two episodes, in that they were on while I was sitting on the couch, but it was pretty stupid. It was like Napoleon Dynamite on super steroids.

Seems news coming out about Kevin Spacey confirming my initial thoughts. Wasn't that much of a secret. He's a piece of trash.

It does sound like it. I mean, I guess it still doesn't prove that the show producers knew, but he's obviously developed a pattern.

Foretelling that Spacey played a child predator in American Beauty and just so happens to be one in real life?

Now Charlie sheen is being accused of raping a 13 year old Corey Haim on the set of Lucas. Fucking Hollywood is so weird.

Such powerful people in that industry, combined with the fact there's really nothing else for you to do if you're blacklisted - most clearly are willing to keep their mouth shut than go back to bussing tables.

I've also seen stories over the years about all the swinger parties that some Hollywood elites frequent. I'm sure some of these pervs think it's just sex, no big deal - bad sushi is probably worse.

Sheen probably WAS too drugged up to remember any of it.
