The game went from 9-0 midway through the second to 9-9 after five. WTF?!?!?

All of the Reds young pitchers seem to have turned a corner here at the end of the season, or are at least showing a lot of improvement from their earlier starts. One of these years the injuries are going to slow down, right? Or will we be paying for the 2012 season (5 starters made all but 1 start) for the rest of our lives?

I was in Cinci over the weekend and I feel like everyone there was expecting a playoff year next year. They were at least talking about contending for teh playoffs. I think we're two years from that, but it depends on those young pitchers we have. If they play like they've been playing recently, I could definitely see it.

The offense is good enough. The pitching cannot be this abysmal again. I'm not sure they'll be a playoff team next year, but if there isn't a big increase in competitiveness I'll be very surprised. The young guys are really starting to look good as the season winds down, not sure if that's a sign of things to come or not, but it at least gives me hope. And Luis Castillo is still good.

I seem where they are making their top pick focus on pitching. Typically I would rather see him be on the field daily but apparently his arm is some kind of special. Haven't been able to watch this season but it seems they have the bats...what 6 with 20 plus or was it 5?
I wouldn't count on cozart to duplicate but votto still has a few and some nice younger sluggers. Now.....pitching!
