Have you tried walking on a high incline on the treadmill? Like 4mph at 12% is equivalent to better than a 10-min mile on a flat surface.

And, of course, walking in general at a decent clip gives you the same basic heart benefits (just obviously not nearly the cardio) and weight management...you just have to log about 25% more miles and it takes longer.

Was pinned between 2 cars years ago, crushed knee and knee cap. Been in pain since and now arthritis. Been doing the cortisone shots for 3 years and next step, replacement. Only problem, ortho dr says I will probably have less range of motion after replacement than I d now, so for now I bear with the pain.

Had back surgery (microdiskectomy) on March 13 to fix a herniated disc in my L5/S1. Dealt with it and the pain shooting down my sciatic for about 7+ months. It was awful.

Just got 100% clearance 3+ weeks ago. Feel tons better. Looking forward to getting back active again now that I'm in an area that I can workout and play soccer.

Got an infected thumbnail last October. Doctor drilled it to relieve pressure, and gradually fell off in pieces. New nail was just about replaced after six months, and wham - another infection in the same spot two months ago. I think there was a slight bulge in the nail that allowed something back then. I got that removed on my own. Nail hasn't fallen out, but still an ugly bruise where some dead tissue is slowly being pushed out. Should be clear by Christmas.

One of my claims to fame is that I was treated in the OSU locker room for an injury during a Buckeyes football game.

I was a Redcoat working outside the OSU locker room, a vending guy with a pallet jack full of ice was trying to go down the ramp to the team bench by himself and slow it down. I jumped in to help him, we walked backward down the ramp, fighting to keep that thing from running away, got to the bottom of the ramp, and bam! The calf tore just as I was letting go.

Somehow made it back up to the top of the ramp, and my supervisor got one of the trainers to take me to the locker room and get treated. Had me up on the training table and everything, lots of ice and plastic wrap. I just hoping Tressel or one of the coaches didn't catch me in there.

I was lucky - fully healed in a month.

pinched a nerve behind my right shoulder blade about a month ago putting our hard top back on the jeep. Hand goes numb and gets the pins/needles feeling all the time now. Have had a massage done to try and relax the muscles, helped a little bit. May have to go see a chiropractor. It's getting super annoying.

Maybe it's just me, but if I have nerve pain I'm not messing around with a chiropractor. Real doctor, MRI, see whats happening.

Nothing wrong with a regular doctor and MRI's, but I'd still have a good chiro see if they can loosen it up first - then pursue the "regular" option if it persists.

Every since I developed lower back spasms 30 years for no reason, and a chiropractor freed up both S-I joints and eliminated the pain in one visit, I'm a believer when it comes up to adjustments.

I chipped a sliver of bone off my patella when I was about 11 during a baseball game. I was playing 3rd base, and a kid stole. I took his helmet in the knee.

I didn't want to come out, so I kept playing. Knee swelled up a little, but I kept telling my parents I was okay. We didn't get it checked out for almost a year, but when we did, the sliver had kind of rounded off, and it wasn't mending. I never got it removed, so I still have that little sliver in there, though now, it just looks like a little stone. However, since then, I experienced the joint pain that older people talked about when the weather was changing.
